Haggling over price

US is offering $6 billion in grants and $25 billion in loans etc to Turkey for co-operation while Turkey is hoping for $10 billion cash and $15 in loans. Now this is called smart shopping unlike Musharaff who sold the nation’s soul and blood for few millions plus a photo op with Bush.

Guys, there is no good and bad, no moral and immoral and no right and wrong in today’s international politics…it is simply what price you want to pay or extract. I am pretty sure once Chirac realizes the $ cost/benefit he will come around with a smile that says - nice doing business with you!

Well, I am sure you know, that Chirac's oppostion to war may entirely be because the cost/benefit is not making sense. He can lose so many billions and US is unwilling to compensate France, otherwise the whole war thingy will become moot. US also has to recover its investment. So, this is a deal-breaker between France and US.

Russia's cost/benefit is simple. They are more concerned with future price of oil/barrel, bcz the cost of getting oil from Russian oil fields is much higher than from KSA or Iraq. As soon as they get an assurance that US will not increase Iraq's output so much, and will keep oil at more than $18/b, they will come around.

China is a wild card.

So, yeah... no one is naive enough to think that the war is on some grand moral and ethical issues. If someone thinks it is, they will learn soon enough. :)

hey.. the last gulf war was bank rolled by Saudi, Kuwait, Germany and Japan...

This time its America's turn to spend some money..

I think you have missed out this fine print

"Turkey will get 10% of the Iraqi Oil"

And control over the Kurds.

Really? But they are fearfull of Irqi Kurds crossing over to Turkey. When war breaks out, Turkey is planning to cross upto 70 miles, as I remember reading, into Iraq and setup relief camps. They are absolutely against any single Iraqi Kurd crossing over to Turkey. They want to keep the two sides of Kurds separate.

And for these nations to provide the manpower and material?
