MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been reported for a suspect bowling action.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said that it had received a report from the umpires and match referee after Wednesday’s limited-overs match between Pakistan and West Indies in Brisbane.
Under the ICC’s regulations, Hafeez must spend the next six weeks with a biomechanist to identify and correct any flaws in his action, but will be allowed to play during that time.
The ICC is considering changing its rules on suspect bowling actions by adjusting the degree at which bowlers can straighten their arm. A decision is expected when the council meets in Melbourne next month.
He was dropped for horrible performance in batting, and his horrible batting continued (last two games), I think he will be sent back to domestic cricket for longer period of time now.
That the guy throws or jerks is not really that bad.
What really bugs me is that no one in Pakistan noticed it, while the guy was playing mohalla *cricket, club cricket or first class cricket. *Kiya sabb ke sabb nabeena umpires hein? Agli team ko bhi taufeeq nahi hui ke phadda hi karr daitay. Hadd hai, yaar.
Do we have to get to international cricket (and that too in Australia) for the umpires to notice that the guy can't bowl with a straight arm?
Hafeez is the fifth Pakistani bowlers to be reported for suspect action during the last couple of years. Others who have been reported for suspect action are pace man Shoaib Akhtar, all-rounder Shoaib Malik, medium pacers Shabbir Ahmad and Junaid Zia.
Faisal bhai, I'm starting to notice off spinners more than ever now, and every off spinner chucks! Damn all the watta bowlers straight to hell! Really.
