GALLE: Muhammad Hafeez, Pakistan’s star all-rounder, has been reported for a suspect bowling action once again after Pakistan’s dominating 10-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in the first test, according to ESPNcricinfo.

Hafeez’s action was reported last year in November after the first Test match against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi, with the all-rounder failing to pass two unofficial bio-mechanics test after that.
Hafeez was the second Pakistani offspinner, after Saeed Ajmal, to be suspended for an illegal action last year.
After failing two unofficial bio-mechanics tests, the all-rounder was due to undergo an official assessment on Feb 16 in Brisbane but a calf muscle injury prevented him in doing so and also resulted in him missing Pakistan’s World Cup venture in Australia.
But Hafeez was finally cleared to bowl in international cricket again on April 21, after more tests on his action in Chennai.

According to ICC rules, Hafeez now has 21 days to go through an official test to determine the legality of his bowling action. Until the outcome of the test, he can bowl in international matches.
However, since this is the second time he has been reported in a year, if his action is found illegal, the offspinner could face a one-year bowling ban.

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

He is very useful in ODI and it will hurt Pakistan in ODI series

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

Sorry, he does not impress anyone with his crappy batting performances, and he barely takes wickets (specially with remodeled action). It's better we have a genuine batsmen like Mukhtar Ahmed to take his spot...

all this dude does is put more pressure on the batsman on the other end when he is at crease.

Sorry Hafeez, your time's up....enough chances given,,,yet failed time and again.......Thanks to ICC for creating a reason for Pakistan to dump this liability.

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

I dont think so. i think we still need him. he contains a lot and thats the thing we need. Remember that our bowling has gone way too weak. We definitely missed him in the WC so thats still a blow

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

Hafeez bowls as well as he bats.

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

you mean his batting action is suspect as well? :hmmm:

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

That too!

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

Do we have any other bowler to restrict batsmen to scoring runs. As for as concern bowling against Zimbabwe, all the matches were high scoring matches and there were no big difference in economy rate.

I appreciate Mukhtar but after looking his batting deeply i can say he is other Afridi or Imran Nazir. His all shots were not controlled shots. But lets hope if he will be able to show same performance in ODIs .

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

We gotta stop looking at these old horses to do it. They can't. They have failed time and again. How many chances does he get as a batsman?

I'm sure there is replacement available in the crores of people, just have to give someone a chance....

Re: Hafeez reported for suspect action again

Me and others were talking about his bowling skills in ODI.
