Star Pakistani all rounder Abdur Razzak has said that skipper Mohammad Hafeez dropped him, not management. He added that majority of the players wanted him to play in the semifinal.
Talking to media after returning empty-hand from World Twenty20, he said that he felt disappointment over dropping in the big match against Sri Lanka.
The star all-rounder said that it was Mohammad Hafeez decision to drop him from the side. He said that he was 100 percent fit, but Hafeez did not give him chance in four matches of the tournament.
Razzak said that he could play winning role if he was given chance against Sri Lanka in the semifinal. He said that national side was losing match inside the ground, but he was feeling anguish outside the ground.
Whats the point of bringing it up? I wanted him to be there too, but more than anyone it is captain's job to decide who he thinks would be better suited for the game.
Bottom line is Pakistan's batting failed against South Africa and then against India. They should have fixed the batting order right there. Yes, they won against Australia but if you they had chased against Australia they would have failed yet again. Pakistani batting order crumbled while chasing and that should be kept in mind while selecting the team, what if we chase? What's the best batting order for that? Pakistan had too many hitters (ie, tulley baaz). I hope they do a complete post-mortem on this series and really should remove the undeserved players like Imran Nazir, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Sami and Afridi.
Note to Razzaq, you can be a hero now that you didnt play the semi-final. I bet if you played, and came to bat at No7, you couldnt have done much on that pitch and under pressure. But now your stock is hight since you didnt play, so enjoy the spotlight in the media. If the squad has 15 players and 11 play and 4 sit out. Those 4 players are dropped from the playing 11 by the captain. This is the rule of thumb. Accept it. All those 4 players want to play. Captain has to field the best 11 according to his understanding of the pitch and opposition.
For some reason, we think our cricketers are perfect in all respects of the game, and that whenever they lose, it must be because of something sinister, like match-fixing, corruption, bad umpiring, or team politics. Why cant we just accept the fact that our team loses because it is a bad team? We have a bunch of good players, but a bad team. On some days, it is good, but on some days, it is/will be bad. They are humans, not angels, who can do no wrong. They will drop catches, mistime hits, overthrow, and get each other run out.
South Africa, one of the top teams in the world, hasnt won a lick for the past gazillion years, yet all they get is the 'choker' label after every defeat. Yet if Pakistan loses 1 match after 50 wins, people/media promptly blame it on something going on behind the scenes. Why doesnt SA get scrutinized for match fixing and bribery?
abay yaar yeh kambakhat politics khatam nahi hogee pakistani cricket mein, baharhaal after this worldcup i have come to the conclusion that Afridi and crybabys like Razzaq have come to the end of their careers and now should retire and call it a day and do something more usefull with their time, gzzzzz I am proud of the Pakistani team this worldcup and we all have bad days unfortunately it came in the wrong game. we should kick out all the chiraandi phaddaybaaz in the team and let the team be lead in peace. This worldcup I was impressed with Nasir Jamshed, Shoaib Malik and Raza Hassan who should be regulars in the team now, rest seniors ko nikaalo. Team should now start working towards other big tournament and work towards their ranking in all formats. GO PAKISTAN GO !!
