Hadhrat Umme Salmah:razi2: narrates that Rasulullah:saw: said,
"**After the death of a Ruler there will be some dispute between the people. At that time a citizen of Madina will flee (from Madinah) and go to Makkah. While in Makkah, certain people will approach him between Hajrul Aswad and Maqaame Ibraheem, and forcefully pledge their allegiance to him. **
Thereafter a huge army will proceed from Syria to attack him but when they will be at Baida, which is between Makkah and Madina, they will be swallowed into the ground.
On seeing this, the Abdaals of Shaam as well as large numbers of people from Iraq will come to him and pledge their allegiance to him. Then a person from the Quresh, whose uncle will be from the Bani Kalb tribe will send an army to attack him, only to be overpowered, by the will of Allah. This (defeated) army will be that of the Bani Kalb. Unfortunate indeed is he who does not receive a share from the booty of the Kalb. This person (Imam Mahdi) will distribute the spoils of war after the battle. He will lead the people according to the Sunnat and during his reign Islam will spread throughout the world. He will remain till seven years (since his emergence). He will pass away and the Muslims will perform his Janazah salaat."
(Abu Dawood)
According to a Hadeeth, Sayyidena Eesa:as: will lead the Janaazah of Imam Mahdi:as:
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
Thanks.
Btw, the main sign of when we are supposed to believe that he is the Mahdi, is when the army from Khurasaan (irak) comes. If there is no army that comes from there, then we cannot accept the Mahdi. Many have tried to pretend to be the Mahdi, but lost the main signs of his coming.
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
The list is somewhat correct… Khurasan, in the time of prophet:saw: consisted of Afghanistan for the larger part, present Malakand division of Pakistan, part of Iran [the province Khurasaan], and central Asian states which were part of Russia before - likes of Qaziqstaan, Chechnia, Uzbekistan etc.
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
well this hadith is non acceptble bcouse this has so many doubts in it like you said Hz Eesa will lead Hz Mahdi(a.s) janaza which is deffinetaly wrong and not proves such a thing.
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
I would like to know the 'definite wrong' in that... That is a hadeeth considered authentic in Sunni School of thought.... Perhaps, it's not found in Shia School of thought...
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
Like all other Muslims, I have read, heard and learnt many ahaadeeth about Zahoor-e-Mehdi:as: …
I have read so many ahaadeeth, have listened to many scholars mentioning those ahaadeeth and many muslims not buying the idea of Mehdi:as: also…
I learnt Shia Tassuvur-e-Mehdi :as: as Ghayab Imaam also…
According to my understanding, this is the aqeedah of Ahl-e-Sunnah wal Jamaah that according to a a hadeeth, Since Prophethood was ended with Rasoolulah:saw:. Allah:swt: sends a Mujaddid [a revivor] in every centruy… and that Imam Mehdi :as: will be the last Mujaddid before the day of judgement… and that he will be the Mujaddid-e-Kaamil who will rule the whole world on the footsteps of Khulafa-e-Rashideen…
It is true that there are ahaadeeth that mention that he will conquer Constintinople but there is a lot more than that…
Recently, I came across to a two-part lecture by Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri which was to my shock was the most complete and chronological understanding of events than I ever heard .. all from the books of ahaadeeth… Now Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri is a bit controversial personality because of some of his fatawaas which people have problem understanding (including myself) but this one was a very thorough and detailed sermon… I hope you will listen to it:
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
Secondly, how is it that Muslim and Bukhari do not mention Mahdi?
Kindly, listen to the lecture, the link of which is posted couple of posts ago... and then start questioning .. thankyou ...
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
I think shia- sunni unity will only become a reality in the time of Imam Mehdi , whether they consider him a mujadid or the hidden imam the pious amongst the shias and sunnis will join him.....while the worldly amongst both the sects will either not help him or fight him.
Re: Hadith about the last Mujaddid of the Ummah - Imam Mehdi
