*Volume 2, Book 21, Number 280: *
Narrated Ibn 'Umar,
Allah’s Apostle said, “Offer some of your prayers in your houses and do not make them graves.”
I think this is very interesting because I thought it was wajib to do to the masjid?

Only Fard prayers are wajib (that also for Men) to do at mosques. Prophet used to perform all his sunnat prayers at home.
In fact even today, when people think that Arab scholars dont pray sunnat after Maghrib cause they leave the mosques is because of the reason. They go home to pray and people think that they are leavinig the mosques without praying sunna and it must not be important and lots of people stop praying sunna because of that reason ..
that is why now some ulema recommend to even other scholars and imams to pray sunna at mosque so general public do not think otherwise

Exactly.
Re: Hadith about praying at home
Hmm well I think it also goes for us to take a lesson not to judge the actions of someone, because we dont know what their intention is or what they are really doing. Also dont take your Islam just by following the actions of randoms people. Who would stop praying Sunnah just because they observe others not performing it? Dont leave the clear for the unclear and ask if you dont know!
Anyways, my husband prays his 2 rakat sunnah for Fajr at home and then goes to the masjid to pray the 2 fard in congregation. However for Isha, he prays it all the masjid
Pretty much everyone today offers at least some of their prayers at home. I think the real challenge today is to offer at least some of their prayers at the masjid, so the masjids donot become graves!!
