" Hadiqa Kiani’s latest album Aasmaan features a predominantly “Pop/Bangrha” sound, and tends to be quite cheesy, thus not satisfying her more serious listeners, but it manages to have some fantastic numbers that prove Hadiqa’s strength as an artist. One of the songs that pop out automatically is the Kalama Iqbal titled “Az Chasme Saqi”. The song is sung in Persian with an English translation, which had many thinking that the song was just going to be a song on the album and not a single. But once again Hadiqa did the unpredictable and released a song in two languages which the average Pakistanis do not understand. Regardless, music is a universal language and Hadiqa has proven that in this Persian number. The song has an Arabic vibe, which probably comes from the experience Hadiqa has had performing in the Middle East during these past few years. Another surprise is Hadiqa’s almost perfect English accent which is a big improvement from her subtle Desi accent which flowed through the English album “Rough Cut” which she released in 2007. Now to the video, it starts off with scriptures of Allama Iqbal along with a few pictures of the legendary poet and his life; these images come and go throughout the video. Then Hadiqa comes to the screen with a full band behind her, she is wearing an eastern dress in a B&W setting, almost looking like a gypsy. The song features Coke Studio flutist Baqir Abbas clad like the others in a white collared shirt with a black vest, a very classic western look from an all Pakistani band supporting Hadiqa’s husky vocals. Overall the video manages to satisfy the viewers while giving a brief look into the life of Pakistan’s national poet Allama Iqbal. Recently the band Strings presented their video titled “Titliyaan” and the video featured the legends of Pakistani music everyone from Iqbal Bano to Assad Amanat Ali, maybe artists like Hadiqa and the Strings duo can inspire our youth to learn more about our legends and also just to respect the legends of Pakistan a little more…"
Re: Hadiqa Kiani sings tribute to our National Poet Allama Iqbal
^ what attitude she is sooo sweet i met her in new york once and she is sooo sweet
and she is a great singer
there is not one other singer atleast not in pakistan that can sing in chinese, persian, turkish, malaysian, pashto, siraiki, and punjabi in almost perfect accents
she is amazing and even if you hate her you have to admit this video is rad and shes talented ;)
Re: Hadiqa Kiani sings tribute to our National Poet Allama Iqbal
I hvnt seen the video :-) i dont hate her bt i just dnt like her. And from what i have seen of her in person i think she is so full of herself that i guess it only makes me dislike her more.
why do ppl like Hadiqa, Atif Aslam, Ali Zafar, etc who have no training get so much backing and acclaim when there are talented ppl like Sara Raza Khan, Ali Abbas, Akbar ali, etc who actually know how to sing and are damn good at it. sure they might not hire expensive stylists and maybe don't know how to act like stars but surely genuine talent and hard work counts for something?
Re: Hadiqa Kiani sings tribute to our National Poet Allama Iqbal
^ but hadiqa is very talented and she has been singing since she was a kid and has had training as a singer then she toured bulgaria and turkey when she was a little kid( im not sure about bulgairia but i remember reading somwhere about that)
and as far as this video goes hadiqa did her own styling ;) lol
i understand what you are saying though but i think its putting yourself into the limelight
but hadiqa is very talented in my opinion cuz its rare for someone to sing in another language without any problems
and as far as this industry goes atif aslam is king because of india and annie is a self proclaimed princess
i know it sounds sorta wierd but i think hadiqa is underated compared to atif and annie, she has been in this industry for over ten years and thats hard for a male artist to do and she has done that

Well lets not talk about Atif or even Ali for that matter cuz they have awesome voices esp Atif and no way anyone can say their success is a fluke.
Re: Hadiqa Kiani sings tribute to our National Poet Allama Iqbal
^ i am an atif aslam fan but most of his hit songs sound the same, the ones on his initial album(his rock songs) are the ones that are actually good
im just saying if atif aslam can be famous just cuz he went and build his name in india then hadiqa should have the right to fame for making her name in pakistan plus representing pakistan to turkey, lebanon, china, brunai, and other places while atifs claim to fame is just bollywood (no doubt atif is a great singer but he really hit the jackpot getting discovered from bollywood cuz after jal most people thought he was history) and the only real time ive been impressed with ali is on coke studio(where he did great otherwise most of his songs beside channo and masty seem boring)
p.s my dad who is like 57 LOVES ali zafar whenever his music video come on my dad makes us shut up so that he can listen to ali lol
Re: Hadiqa Kiani sings tribute to our National Poet Allama Iqbal
I dont think so that its cuz of bollywood that he has earned his fame....he is an awesome singer and dats what there is to it. Bollywood has earned alot of fame in music thru him so they shud be thankful to him.
I am not comparing him to anyone...I just happen to think he is one of the best singers ever. I dont think its right to compare his calibre as a singer to hadiqa or most of the other singers but then its my opinion. You are entitled to yours ofcourse :P
Re: Hadiqa Kiani sings tribute to our National Poet Allama Iqbal
^ nuh uh you really thought i was a girl????
lmao well im not, and if i were i would be very very sad cuz then there is absolutely no chance for me to marry hadiqa (in this life i have a chance...a small chance cuz she lives in pakistan and i dont and weve only met once but there is still a chance;) lol)
