So I was not sure if this would be health and fitness or Culture.
You remember the pehlwaans who supposedly fix a broken arm or leg by adjusting your bone. Does that thing work? I have my serious doubts about that but this form of treatment seems to be quite popular in rural areas of Pakistan (and I am assuming, in India too)
Yes TLK it works. Some of my relatives got injured and they were taken to Pehlwan (Kumhaar) for haddi bithana and they were healed with their treatment. Its not limited to rural areas. I kinda remember that in Golimar Karachi there is a Pehlwan / kumhar who still does this treatment.
I've seen so many people in Pakistan (including one of my class mate) who got a broken arm, which even after the treatment, remained bend a little. I am not sure if these guys went to a pehlwaan, but many might be the result of that.
Plus, it might work in simple fractures but I am sure that in the case of multiple fractures, this technique would not work.
YES, i had few of my haDDis fixed by a pahelwan when i was a kid and lived in my village...it does work BUT a word of caution as well...i know a few cases where those pahelwans had messed up with their patients...:(
there also used to be 'JARRAHS', if you remember, who used to do minor surgeries and they were OK! mujhe yaad hai k kabhii kisii ke phoRaa nikaltaa to jarrah us meN shigaaf lagaa kar peep nikaal kar marham paTTii kar detaa to vo chand roz meN Theek ho jaataa! Khatna bhii vohii kiyaa kartaa thaa yaa phir local naii kartaa thaa...lol
I can see the wavy backbone on right, but is not the straight backbone on left is a bit off in reference with the naked guy’s picture behind it? If that how he sets it, then I dont want to go to him.
