May be we didn't get links in our vocabulary and would have been discussing every thing in shudh Hindi. An invader provide way to next invader. It is quite possible, if India was not invaded by Muslims, it would have been powerful enough to coup with British colonialism. May be, just a thought.

Portuguese invasion of parts of India was pretty independent of any of the rulers of India at that time. That part of history would remain unaffected even if Muslims were not part of the equation.

But India got two major religions before arrivals of Muslims. Buddhists and Hindus. Many of earlier converts to islam (from Sindh) were Buddhists. If Muslims hadn't come to India, these two religions would also lead to same results. No?

I think Portuguese got support form conflicts between Muslim- Non-Muslim divide as well, like 18th century Maratha - Mughal wars.

religiously, both religions [if we call them religions] are more into a peaceful existence but unfortunately Muslims were quite brutal while Islam is peaceful...look at Muslims now, they have crossed all the boundaries in becoming 'darinde' rather then 'dove of peace'.

You mean to say that there is history of persecution between Buddhist and Hindus and Muslim rulers introduced religious intolerance in India?

Had Muslims not invaded India, there would not have been any Hindus because there was no single religion called "Hinduism" before Muslims came. This religion was defined as the opposite of being Muslim. Thus all mythologies and beliefs were put under one category of Hinduism.
Secondly, there would not have been a single country named "India". Because it never was one country. There was no concept in the subcontinent that somehow they all were same one nation. This is why it was easier for Muslims to claim victories. Different rajahs were not bothered by some part of subcontinent being under attack.
The presence of Muslim people DEFINED Indian nation and religion of Hinduism. Ironic. Ironic.

Islam reached Kerala before it reached sindh, so it would have come sooner or later. The idea of Hindu nationalism on the nationwide level is mostly a bengali idea of motherland and subsequent extension of that idea to the entire India.
India would have been same, relatives killing each other haven't stopped long after Mahabharat.
Probably Sikhism as an organized religion wouldn't have come.
Would India been good? May be or may not be, though dengue would have killed same number of people like it kills
at personal level, I would have lived and died in Varahmulah(delhi is better place for that)

possibly I wouldn't have got married to Yaara then, he would have lived, jhelum ke kinare and I would have lived in Lyallpur. non-arrival of Islam would have been different for me, if not disastrous :D
