H1N1 Vaccine

Hi

I have my vaccine next week. As they offer it to preg woman.

Doc was telling me that 10% of swine flu sufferers are preg woman over 3 months and usually they keep prego’s away from medicine and vaccines but they feel this is worthwheil to protect the baby should u contract it, miscarriage and complications can happen.

Are you girls going for it or not.

Re: H1N1 Vaccine

I got it (and the regular flu vaccine) and did not have any problems or side effects. My baby will inshAllah be a winter baby, born right in the middle of flu season. Since she won't be able to have vaccines right when she's born, it's important to protect her as well.

Re: H1N1 Vaccine

im pregnant and had my swine flu jab last week apart from the sore arm, i have not experienced any side effects.

I think it also depends on your lifestyle. I'm a teacher, and there were cases popping up constantly for a while, so I'm glad I had the vaccine. If you work or take public transportation pretty regularly, it's important to protect yourself. I suppose if you're home most of the day, the risk is not as great (though I do know of a couple cases where a husband caught swine flu while the wife was pregnant. Thankfully they families were ok, but it was scary).
