H1 shech one maslay

for the amreeki legal experts amongst us, if any. i have two companies who want me to work for them and both dont mind me working for the other company. both on paper would be 40 hours.

now Im on H1 yet, and havent authorised either to go ahead and process anything. I talked to my OIS person she says she hasnt seen anyone work for two places on H1. can it be done? i’d hate to lose all the money :frowning:

Re: H1 shech one maslay

No.

Re: H1 shech one maslay

thanks for breaking it to me gently.

why cant it be done? is that something h1 specific? my boss is on two payrolls but hes GC.

Re: H1 shech one maslay

lol ^^ short and sweet what else could you ask for.......

Good luck ravage

Re: H1 shech one maslay

Yes. The rules for H-1 are fairly specific so GC rules don’t apply.

My initial reaction was that you can’t do two jobs on an H-1B visa. Which is true, but if you can get both employers to get separate H-1B visas for you, then you can do both jobs. I actually did some more research on this (which you should have done yourself :grumpy: )

Anyway, here it is

Re: H1 shech one maslay

You don't need 2 H1's to do what you want to do - if both employers are willing tell one to apply with a job description that includes deputation. Best ofcourse would be ask INS (or whatever it is called these days) how to do this....just ask openly.

Think of consulting companies that hire on H1 and the make money by sending the consultant to many clients at one time

faisal bhaiiii  .. khush rahein :k:

Re: H1 shech one maslay

This is different. In your case sceanrio, the employee is still working for one employer. Clients are not considered employers for the individual because he doesn’t directly get paid from there.

You do need two H1 approvals to work for two employers. I know people who have done it.

Re: H1 shech one maslay

no you cant do it man. ask second company to pay you under the table in cash.
