H-1B: Separate quota for US graduate

Since Majority of the H1 quota gets eaten up by Indians (Indians please dont get offended) a lot of them have degrees from India. the people who suffer most from this (among others) are the students who go to school in US and have US master’s or Undergraduate degrees.

Would it help if there is a separate quota for people with US degree’s or their applications are considered first?

Okay, I know it should have been H1-B and not H-1B in title

Re: H-1B: Separate quota for US graduate

There is a 20,000 visa quota for US Masters Degree graduates.
It also expired shortly after the base went.

Re: H-1B: Separate quota for US graduate

Since I am fairl*y *certain you and I will not enact a policy change on this, I am just curious if there is a petition like this making it into US Congress, that led you to start this discussion?

Re: H-1B: Separate quota for US graduate

I wasnt talking about Masters quota, just let the US u/g and grads have first go at H1's. thats all i am hoping.

Where in Minneapolis are you and what do u do there?

Faisal, i dont think there is anything in congress. But i'd love it if anyone puts this idea into a petition.

Re: H-1B: Separate quota for US graduate
