What are your views on these gyms that are opening up for under 18’s?
Although there is a rise in child obesity do you feel that it may be dangerous for youngsters to attending these gyms. I am talking mainly about the psychological effects here…in this day and age teenagers are bombarded with what the media percieves to be the perfect body which in turn can lead to an increase in the number of teenagers with anorexia, bulimia, etc.

Not at all, these gyms could do wonders for these overweight kids who are constantly either on internet, or playing video games, and getting no excercise. There is nothing wrong with trying to get the perfect body, but at the same time being realistic about it.
I think it’s a great idea. Yea, sure the media does make it tough for teenagers but at least this way they can go do something about it, and would be motivated by their peers. Its a great way to build healthy habits.
Although there will be a problem of competition but I think that would be minimal, the important thing is actually doing something about avoiding obesity rather than putting it off and facing it when one is older.
with educated and experienced nutritionist and trainers teens can be guided on the right path..i think if kids do get a good counsellor..they can help them with disorders as well :)
