Gym/Fitness culture

Re: Gym/Fitness culture

You have a point. Ideally, you’d like the youth to look at sportsmen and get inspired by their genuinely commendable ‘lifestyle’, commitment to remain fit and active, and of course with their sportsmanship, than inject steroids to look like Salman Khan. I condemn this behaviour on a serious level. Speaking of Salman Khan, I personally never found him or his type of physique attractive. I’d take a tall, slim but immensely fit fella like Shaun Tait (the Australian bowler - does he still play?) than Salman Six Packs Khan.

Shahid Afridi is tremendously fit, has excellent physique, since he’s so famous in Pakistan, I would imagine most Pakistanis or at least the locals would be quite inspired by him?

Re: Gym/Fitness culture

Too add to that, Mr. Afridi has a big heart.

Re: Gym/Fitness culture

And there are some guys who stand in the public places with hands on their waists wearing skin-tights, and half-sleeves shirts.

For them, it's not a healthy activity but just a show off, and, moreover, they use steroids which is not healty.

And Salman Khan is not a fitness icon but a leading example for them towards steroids.

Re: Gym/Fitness culture

Back in my teens I was obsessed with bodybuilding. I wanted to get big fast. Well I did get big and so did my tond. However the get big craze wore off fast because working out 6 days a week got too much. Nobody told me 3 days was just as good and cardio was important too. Or they did tell me, I just didn’t listen. Haven’t been to the gym ( properly ) in over 2 years now, however I do workout at home (when I’m not feeling lazy). Pullups are my staple and I’ve been trying to do a handstand (without a wall) forever. I plan on running and hitting the monkey bars at the park once I move. Why am I not running already? Stray dogs in my current neighborhood, but I’m moving in a week or two.

I think we need more bars outside so that people can start doing calisthenics in fresh air. Not enough pullup bars at gyms in Karachi, I remember having to wait forever to get on one.

And these guys are my inspiration these days.

It’s gonna take a lot of work to get anywhere near what these guys are doing.

Re: Gym/Fitness culture

I always thought that trying to bulk stopped the height growth so never really got into fitness.

Re: Gym/Fitness culture

^
Try it once your puberty phase ends.

Re: Gym/Fitness culture

I did work out a lot few years ago and planning to back in the gym again but need a car because gyms are quite far from my place. I'm still in shape but just need to get rid of some fat from lower belly which is the hardest phase to get a flat abdomen.
