I have completed my MBA and I want to start a good business. Yesterday I have taken 10 million rupees from my father and I want to start earning on that money. I have my car so travelling isn’t difficult and I also have full support from my father. My father want to see that if I can earn some profit on that 10 million rupees in 1 year. I wouldn’t be using any profit which I earn till 1 year because I will be getting money from my father. So guys I have thought a lot about it and I got some hints from internet which I have written below:-
Real Estate (Like purchasing some small flats and taking rent from it)
Buying Dollars, Pounds and other currencies (Will sell it when it conversion to pakistani rupee will increase)
I found a lot of ideas and according to me these are some risk free ideas but these are just investment ideas. I want to make a permanent business which can help me to earn permanently. Even 100 thousand per month for start would be good.
I am moving this to Career and Advice. My two cents to you, I dont think that any one can advice you. You'll have to see your options and go for the business that makes sense to you. Secondly bragging about how much money you have (on an online forum) is also not a recommended practice, you never know who is browsing these forums.
Make sure you give Rs 250,000 in charity - it will increase your wealth much more when you do business with purified wealth, inshaAllah.
That should be enough money to buy a franchise retail outlet - a famous brand or something, coffee shops have low material costs, but choose a good location.
But the best idea could be this:
Find two or three film/photography businesses, two or three beauty salons, two or three event halls or venues, two or three card printers, two or three caterers/food suppliers and two or three entertainers and make an arrangement with them by contract that they will charge you 80% of the prices they charge to normal customers.
You can then set-up a website and get a small office for yourself and you can become "An Event Planner" ... What you do is that organise all the events and people just pay you for your project management. This will make good use of your MBA as well.
You can also make deals with holiday resorts to give you a discount for providing regular customers in their direction - that would be made useful in instances such as "holiday events for schools" or "honeymoons" and so on ... You in turn charge your fee to the clients and your profit will be good because you make a profit on each service you provide plus the actual project management fee itself.
Make your business special by doing themes - such as pirate ship weddings where the bride and groom dress as pirates ... or you can do a religious setting and call over some nasheed artists ... that sort of stuff.
^ The first rule they teach in business - don’t give away your good ideas …
But I don’t agree with selfish philosophies …
The second rule: Teach them how it’s done, but if you knew what should be done then you wouldn’t be teaching right? You would be doing it yourself …
General Wisdom:
You can train a person to be a good manager - but you can’t make them learn how to acquire good business ideas … However, you can evaluate a good idea fairly easily.
A phd in management can be good teacher in management - but it doesn’t make him a good businessman, if he doesn’t get any good business ideas.
Guys yeah I do got a lot of ideas and jobs from my teachers but it was in London.
Heya Chicken Biryani your idea seems good to me and I have started Stock Exchange slowly slowly. I haven't invested all the money just a little bit to start. Stock Exchange is a great option I have done this before as well.
I went to a couple of seminars on investment in stocks and shares ... And no doubt it was interesting, (but I had a young materialistic mind) and then I realised that it is system that only works because there are people doing it. The more little people invest the more the people higher in buying power can benefit. It is the wholemark of the capitalistic pyramid. I could see people spending a lot of time doing that ... and to be honest I started to feel sick of the idea.
I have never done shares ... I have learned about them but never done them and others I know who have done them are always talking about them ... and they don't benefit either, because they are on the whole stupid. The only way one can benefit is to be trading by the hour these days. That means put your life on hold for a few weeks and take a break to surface for no more than a few days ... because in those few days anything could happen.
It tastes like gambling, it looks like gambling - 9 times out of 10 those who benefit greatly are gambling. If they are not gambling then they are taking interest. Very few investments - such as in the case of venture capitalism is probably truest to what is halal investment trading. These are my thoughts and not a fatwa for you to follow - you do what is best for you and always seek counsel from the experts.
With that much capital in hand, you could start something in the real estate. Buy a few plots in Islamabad. And let them be for a while. Don't worry about the Qabza mafia in Islamabad. You property will be safe. Even buy a few houses/flats.
