So…what are the benefits of a working wife??

BESIDES ADDITIONAL INCOME

I mean…wouldn’t that mean less time/attention for the kids and husband??

ppl complain about working womens that they are more advance and broad minded, pays less attention towards kitchen bla bla!

There must be some guys who admire working independent women for the effort and struggle that they put in? And I know it's not always the case, but many a time working woman = educated woman. A well educated working woman, who keeps her priorities in check (i.e. takes care to balance family with work, probably more lenient towards family) is great in my opinion. :)

let me be clear about the topic first, was it benefit or negative points?

I think a working wife can understand her husband's work problems and can be helpful about matters related to work life too. being broad minded and advance and giving less time to the husband and family can happen with "house wives" as well. Its all about your strength of character actually.

You can ask her to pickup milk on her way back from work and when she is at it she can pickup Chinese or McDonald combo meal , or KFC family platter for dinner since you were watching football and did not feel like making dinner.

because disadvantages i know…i have observed many families…

where did u read anything about negative points?? i asked for advantages…you can point me towards any ambiguity in my first post…

or did u assume that since i opened this thread…it was about negatives?? :nahi:

Benefits

  • Additional income
  • Less wife/ MIL and in-laws issues thus more peace of mind
  • Sense of pride and better status amongst friends/ relatives
  • More contacts and references because of wife working which can help in husbands' careers
  • Wife less interested in 'extra-curricular' activities of husbands :D
  • Better and secure future for children and more confident children because of well-provided living and education
  • Less burden on husbands and they can take sometime off from their jobs if they want for their higher education or just for rest
  • Keeping away from unwanted relatives by making excuses of wife being very busy and not having enough time :D

A working woman is not as dependent on her husband for personal fullfillment and happiness, she has a life away from him, friends away from him and other things to concentrate on, it probably makes the relationship healthier as long as she keeps a balance of home and career.

Sometimes you see on GS women who are SOLELY dependent on their husbands for sociliazation, fun, going out etc etc and then when their husbands are tired/busy they have nothing to do and get upset and the women themselves go a bit mad just sitting at home all day bored out their brains feeling unfulfilled.

In the future i want to work but not like 80 hours a week, I want to work enough to keep me sane by getting me out the house, having friends and keeping my brain stimulated but i dont want to work to an extent where im too tired or busy that my home life is compromised.

Will your kids not be going to school during the day then?

There are plenty of jobs where mum can work and still be there at the school gates to pick up the kids or take time off during school holidays etc + some dads do actually help out if/when mum can't (my dad was one of them and I honestly never in my life felt like I was missing out on anything)..
