And it’s not a matter of wanting to change things, but hoping that things manage to be a little better tempered and slightly more acceptable (or less offensive) within the existing social constructs.

Co-existence is possible.

Acceptable, less offensive and better tempered are all perspectives. What we all need are yardsticks, against which we can put our own righteous conforming selves in perspective.
