i went to watch the film Purely for abhishek as i am totally in love with him. & believe it or not i found hi extreemly attractive even in Guru. lol. i liked the film although i was expecting to see more of the 'struggle' he had to go through to become so successfull, they dont really show much of how the villager became sucha huge success...
my friends hated it it(the ones who i forced to go with me,lol)
but i loved it. his performance was great, i bet he'l get an award for it.

not based but copied, they have changed some certain things in it and messed it up a little and they use different names, but still it was good.

hello,
does anyone have information on the 2 new added tracks to the sountrack of Guru. "Shauk Hai" and "Dhoom Dhaka". I tried googling but no luck. I don't think they released those songs in the soundtrack...

Excellent movie…but not everyone’s cup of tea. Its a very powerful movie with great acting, direction, writing, and music. Abhishek :k:

Good Movie!!
The songs were totally unncessary and came out of no where to prolong the flick. They should have done them in the background kind of what they did w/ Rang de basanti. Oh well I enjoyed my 10 minute naps every 30 mins or so :)

^Are you gettting "The Guru" mixed up with "Guru"? "The Guru" is complete trash with that Jimi Mistry guy but I don't think i've heard a really bad review of "Guru". What exactly didn't you like about it?

No I am not getting them mixed up.
I am talking about Abhishek's Guru. Honestly, this movie is nothing to go gaga about like what I had been reading and hearing.
It is not clear whether this story is being told to inspire those who watch it or to tell that what difficulties may come to those who dare. The theme is not clear. Also, the major flaw of the movie is that the central character of the movie is not a good guy. Right from the beginning he appears to be an extremely selfish man which wasn't appealing to me. The typical Indian court scene in the end attempted to conveniently justify his wrong actions but failed.
Oh and Aishwarya Rai looked true to her age of 35. Old and wrinkled. She should give up on the movies and see if she can play a dumb and deaf grandma in one of the soaps, well enough. It would be too hard to be bad at acting at least in this role.

Legacy of Dhirubhai Ambani is far more greater then what "Mr.Guru" portrayed in the film, imagine a boy working on a petrol pump later owns worlds largest petro refinery.
The film has failed to portray his journey as Mr.No one to super duper rich guy. More over I was looking for inspiration in this film but they have ruined this film with stupid love story.
