Actually last couple of weeks been just that...but luckily projet starting again from tomorrow so no more hanging on GS :p

Because sometimes we just want to be heard, and other times we want to hear what others have to say. smile

I can stop gupshup at any moment. As I have left it for long periods of time in the past, but I eventually come back because I want to read peoples views, and sometimes have questions answered.

Honestly.. I dunno..

When I joined, I dint think I wud stick ot it, i thot it wud be like naseeb, fun for a month or so n move on.. if I had, i wud’ve registered wit a interesting nick.. but oh well..

I like to ask for advice on lil things.. to voicemy opinons (i have plenty :wink: ) .. to learn about culture (n so far wat i’ve learned, I dont like :bummer: )

gupshup is an addiction because there are lot of nice people giving their views…and different views from mine…that is really interesting!

well with time i came to know people and i have a few friends there (i really met some of them…others not yet;) )and it’s fun to hang around here

other reason is that i first came here to learn about pakistani culture (as i’m gori) but on the long run…i realised there is more than "one " paki culture…but many: not only regional differences…not only FOB/ABCD divide…but each and every family has his own culture…someone living in UK is different than someone in USA…and uni educated UK born desi brought up in gora neighboorhood, is not same as secondary school educated UK born desi brought up in desi neighborhood…so i think there are still things to learn from the desi diaspora…everyone lives in a different place, and have different experience…it’s nice learn from other people lives…it makes one smarter i think, hmmm, HOPE :blush:

I started by reading posts on gupshup. but then i started to participate also. i use gupshup for advices on especially culture as i myself dont have much knowledge on how to deal with pakistanis.
I learn and understand other ppl's views much better on gupshup than in real life on some issues, especially regarding shadi and in-law issues as they are very personal stuff which i dun wanna share with everyone in real life.
here on gupshup i get responses on personal matters and can pick n choose whatever i want to.

and its a good way to exchange info on shopping stuff as well:D

  • You type messages to Guppies while you are on the phone with them at the same time.

  • You have an identity crisis if someone is using the same Avatar close to your own.

  • You know more about your GS friends daily routines than about your own family.

  • You begin to say "Tee hee heh heh heheeeeeeeeeeee" instead of laughing.

  • Moderators ask you for help.

i'm not addicted... i'm juz passing my time :P
jokes aside, i think its da best place to see diff perspectives on certain issues we might be having etc. i know a lot of ppl who discuss stuff with their family members before making decisions but i dun have such privilege so turning to gs is a gud idea. not to get influenced but to get a 360degrees view of something i have on mind. i've learnt so much here and while some posts have made me make informed decisions, other posts have made me appreciate myself more:biggthumb

someday i shall write a BIG thank you post to all of u :D hehe
