That's an amazing feat. It takes me over an hour to read 1 supara. I hope you don't rush it as the sawaab is gained by reading it slowly and understanding what your reading.

just a suggestion-why not try to complete the Quran’s in 1-2 days since we hv many ppl wanting to join in too.

Sir/madam, I will ask you to spend 5 to 10 hours daily on reciting Quran for a month or so if not 5 to 10 in a month then 2 hours daily for one year just reading Quran and then tell me after that time are you still reading one Sipara in one hour?
When I was pregnant I finished 10 Quran in month of Ramadan many of my friends start saying same thing and I asked them to do the same i am asking you one or two of them answered ,"hamary tu bachy hain abhi tumhare bachy nahi." others start reading fatwa that," haqooUllah itne zaroori nahi jitne HaqooqulIbad hain." That means they are taking care of their home and feeding their kids is more important then reciting Quran for 5 hours. You know we have to drive to their schools do this that and that. I smiled and said, “ I spend a lot of time reading Quran before my marriage now in U.S.A I even don’t have that many friends I have in past I can read or yeh ab meri adapt main shamil hy.”
Now for example once upon a time I was in typing class 35 WPM with 5 errors needed to pass. I spend just 45 minutes in class no practice at all and I was fail then two month later I was able to pass but no practice to keep fingers on home keys at all after that. To day my speed is less then 30:D(now you will say ummy you must work on your typing instead of reading Qurran:D).” Anyways there are many people their typing speed is more then 50 words per minute. Have you ever chance to be a court reporter? Or observed one maaaaaaaaaan I am impressed they just type very fast and not a single look at typewriter (now a days laptop) I always try to see them watching at screen that what they are typing but she is looking all around even smiled when ever I had eye contact with her. We wont say slow down and how You are doing such reason every one aware after a lot of practice.
Other thing some people insist to read Quran with translation I wanna ask them why we never translate all ayat during Namaz . Samjh samjh ker perhu ka kahin matlab yeh nahi ke her bar translation ky sath perhu believe me that will be glitch same as if you do this practice in 5 times prayers. Once or twice with translation is enough to memories the over all meanings. Allah ny Arbi main Quran nazil farmaiya or ose patta hai is ka matlab kiya hy.
Sorry my answer is long but I am really tired of these kind of statements in my real life :(

Lady you totally misunderstood me. Yes Allah knows the meaning of the verses of Quran, non-arbi speaking musalman don't; that's why we rely on translations to understand what we are reading. Are you telling me one shouldn't try to understand the Quran in the physical and spiritual sense?
Although you are right about pick up the pace when you read the Quran regularly.

I totally agree with Ummeymeem.when i started reading quran it used to take a long time ie.about an hour or so,then uptil 2 yrs ago it used to take me about 40-45 minutes to read 1 para/juz,last year it took me only about 30 minutes & this year in ramadan in the beginning it too me 30 minutes but now as i reached my 4th Quran:alhamd: it takes me only about 20-25 minutes to read 1 para/juz.The more you read the lesser time it will take.
Reading the Quran with understanding is important & as ummeymeem said"Once or twice with translation is enough to memorise the over all meanings. "
The Quran is the Speech of Allah. Allah says in the Quran:
[RIGHT]فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِ إِن كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ[/RIGHT]
Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Qur’ân) if they are truthful. (At-Tur 52:34)
[RIGHT]وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًاأَحَدٌ[/RIGHT]
“And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.” (Al-Ikhlas 112:4)
- When u read the Quran without understanding it u get the reward of reading the quran(in which every Alphabet of the quran =10 rewards).

Mujhy ab woh hadith yad nahi magar hy is bary main ky Ramzan ky maheeny main aik nyki ka swab .....% ziada milta hy (PS: Kissi ko achi trha yad hu tu please quote kerin) Ab agar ap translation ky peechy pery rahin gy tu swab tu aik quran ka hi mily ga or agar ap aik sy ziada Quran khatam ker sakty hain tu andaza karin sirf translation ky peechy ap ne kitna swab zaya ker diya.

Huroofy Muqatiyat ky bary main tu suna ho ga on ki koi translation nahi or even arabs bhi nahi janty on ka matlab(Alif-laam-meem,)
