senior people from GS are members of the fb group but as Lucid has already mentioned, we prefer not to post there due to the rights that fb has over the material posted on their site.

at GS we have similar rights however we have established our credibility with our membership by NOT using your material for either our personal or commercial gain.

at this point in time it is unlikely that paklinks/gs will pursue a formal relationship with fb.

You’re giving your whole life away the moment you connect to the Internet. If you have problems with admins reading your PM’s then you’re better off to stay away from gupshup, no one’s forcing you to join.

Perhaps Cheegs has left some stuff unsaid here and I want to make sure that there is no misunderstanding…

as Lucid said in a previous post…Admins don’t have time to access your PMs, private blogs, etc…we have the ability but really, we don’t have the inclination, interest or time to spare.

Cheegum’s first sentence is what really should hit home with those folks that are worried about their personal lives becoming public. Nothing is totally private on the internet. Nothing.

If you had an issue with your blog being read by someone that is not on your contact list then I hope that you took it up with an Admin and found some resolution. If you did not then I hope that you took it up with the Director. As far as I am aware, there are no pending or open issues.

I don't have an ego the size of Texas so I will put my statement to you up front:

If you have felt slighted or if you feel that the Administration of this website has not been fair and just in addressing your concerns then I apologize on the team's behalf.

And I will not mince words in admitting that in the past our team's credibility has suffered at the hands of those that took an appointed position as a birth-right and were overzealous in their actions. However, that specific culprit is no longer a member of this team and we have, I hope, moved well beyond the episode.

If we are to go on your own assertion then 99.99% confidence is pretty good for a volunteer team of this size, wouldn't you say?

LC, the moment you're on the internet there is a possibility your computer can be hacked and your information leaked. That is what i meant.

Monk, admins have the necessary powers and especially the rights to read your PM's. This doesn't mean they will go about using their powers to do whatever they want, but there nothing you can say or do to stop them either. You don't have a choice here. This is similar to free web-based email accounts (like hotmail or gmail). Every email there is open to the respective admins at those services.
