Gupshup Doctors

I have a question.

A month ago, I accidentally slammed the door of my car on my index finger. (top joint where the nail is )

It hurt like hell, had a cut, bled for a while and took two weeks to heal.

However I have this constant pins and needles sensation in the top joint.

The rest of the finger works fine ive done the burn test and the poking a needle into the skin. It hurts so there is feeling but there is a constant pins and needles sensation whenever I bend my finger or use it to write or anything.

What do you think I’ve done ??

Re: Gupshup Doctors

may be the inner muscles havent healed yet
be careful with it and dont ignore the problem
see some doc
or it could get worse needing one or many surgeries

Might be that the very tiny nerve endings in your finger are damaged OR the compression on the nerves by the swelling that u can not see, but exists within the finger since the accident. You must see a doc asap to prevent any long term damage, he or she might consider putting a very small cast on finger to prevent any further damage associated with movement.
Good luck

Re: Gupshup Doctors

Dear patient,

While I can understand what a traumatic experience that might have been and that even now you are probably in the healing process, I would advise you the seek the opinion of an expert physician.

With love and hugs.

Re: Gupshup Doctors

^ I agree, you have to see a doctor

ouchhhhhhhh tht must of pained:D

Re: Gupshup Doctors

Get an xray to make sure you didn't have a fracture. 2 weeks afterwards is kinda late to be getting any xray, but at least you'll know. My cousin did the same a couple of months ago, and now his DIP (the top joint) of his finger is all fused together & crooked and he still feels pain sometimes. Pins and needles sensation is most likely due to nerve damage, which is a slow healing process if its not completely severed.

Re: Gupshup Doctors

oh gee, good help you lot are :naraz:

I dont wanto spend an hour in the waiting room to see a doctor :frowning:

Re: Gupshup Doctors

good doc is necessary

would you rather be in pain by not going just because you have to wait in a waiting room? be patient and just go!

Re: Gupshup Doctors

OUCH!!! That hurt when i read your post!! OUUUUUYYYYYY OUCHHHH.

Re: Gupshup Doctors

adreeeeeeeeee!! did u go see the doc?

Hi,
I think there is some compression on the nerve.Just do hot water massage two to three times per day and if possible add some salt in the water and hopefully your problem will be solved.
It is not a serious matter and just by doing little exercises of the finger it will be ok.
Good luck
