Guppies in Europe

I’m thinking of planning a tour with family to Europe. I want to cover at least three countries just over a week or two. Want to see some Nice weather, scenary and History. Which countries would you reccommend? I would like to see Spain, Italy and Greece.

Please add pics with your post.

Re: Guppies in Europe

In europe there are certain groupings you can do which makes your life easier. Normally it is France, Spain and Switzerland. Or Italy, France and Switzerland. Or Germany, Holland and Denmark. Countries that are closer together have better transportation deals.

You can get a Eurorail pass for 150 Euros or there abouts which lets you travel for 8 days free on any train in europe. I think public transportation maybe covered as well.

Two countries I would really recommend to visit are Italy and Greece. But you would have to fly to greece. I would not suggest trains.

Re: Guppies in Europe

Spring in Europe for me is May. When the sun is out, you have all those small cafe's with seating outside, you can sit drink a proper coffee and see the world go by.

Re: Guppies in Europe

My recommendation, Italy, Switzerland & France.

Re: Guppies in Europe

^ thanks guys, I need to do some more research........ In terms of food in which places would expect to find Halal Food? What is the general attitude of european people towards asians/pakistani's?
Grumpy thanks for the details on Eurorail pass - where can I purchase this from?

Re: Guppies in Europe

My recommendation:

Switzerland, Austria & Italy

Suggested plan (which you can easily do with the Interrail pass):

Day 1: Morning flight from London to Geneva (easyjet flies there from Stansted) - spend the whole day there and take an evening train to Interlaken - overnight in Interlaken
Day 2: Spend a few hours in Interlaken and its surroundings, move on to Luzern by train and then Zurich - overnight stay in Zurich
Day 3: Morning Train from Zurich to Innsbruck - you can walk around this beautiful city in a few hours - in the afternoon move on to Salzburg by train - overnight in Salzburg
Day 4: Spend the whole day in Salzburg and its surroundings (including Hallstatt if possible) - take an evening train to Klagenfurt
Day 5: Visit Minimundus in Klagenfurt - travel to Villach around lunch time - spend the afternoon in Villach city centre - take the evening train from Villach to Venice (departure 7.36 PM, arrival 10.32 PM) - overnight in Venice
Day 6: Spend the whole day in Venice and visit its famous sights - afternoon train to Rome, where you will arrive in the night - overnight in Rome
Day 7: Spend the whole day in Rome from where you will fly back to the UK (Ryanair flies from Rome to London Luton and London Stansted)

Re: Guppies in Europe

It depends whos going with you. If you have children traveling too then you'll need lots of beach and watersports to keep them occupied. However if its more of a romantic or chilling out getaway then perhaps start of in the Andalous region of southern spain, then go onto Greece (islands of Paphos and definately Kefalonia) and then the Amalfi coast in southern Italy. All three have nice weather, lots of history and stunning scenery.

The Amalfi coast is just wooaah!
