So I am doing my MA at the University of Ottawa and I am starting to slowly work on my thesis. For my thesis, I will conducting an analysis of intra-family conflicts due to the adoption of Canadian culture by second generation female Pakistani “youth”.
These interviews are not for my Thesis per say, just a course I am taking.
I need candidates between the ages of 18 and 33 to interview!! My Urdu is not very good, so the interview would have to be in English or french. Everything would remain confidential, in the sense that the only person who will read the interview is a professor, , therefore nothing published.
Someone who is second generation is basically a person born in Canada with at least one parent born abroad, or someone born abroad who immigrated here prior to the age of 13.
I am currently in Ottawa, but I can easily get to Montreal (I go at least once a month) and even Toronto. Furthermore, the interviews can be done via chat if you absolutely cannot meet in person.
I am open to hearing about any one of your experiences- doesn’t need to be dramatic- but any instance of conflict you had with your family- whether temporary or continuous- how it affected you, how you dealt with it…anything.
If not you, then do you know someone else who was in this situation and would like to talk about it?
Finally, a little about me- I am working in Ottawa, 28 years old and attending university there. You may inbox me for more details.
THANK YOU!! I REALLY APPRECIATE ANY help you you can offer!
The title change was originally done in all caps, so internet protocol suggests that when people type in all caps it is like they are screaming. It was then changed to normal font.
It was just a silly joke, no harm meant, good luck with your interviews.
Wow Slims, you’re out of control. You really need to stop harassing members. Made me cry that one time just because I missed a period and mispalld a word.
