We try our level best to be online round the clock. If something went unnoticed, you should point that out instead of raising a hue and cry about it. In the recent past, if I am not wrong we have banned members who indulged in such low acts.

If this thread was made when matsui and his fellow henchmens were still not banend and they were still doing the thing that they do, than it would have made some sense. But to leave so sudden without any apparent reason at all seems so foolish.
No religion should be insulted in any way.I would suggest that if somebody reads something offending, PM the mods.They dont always take action, I myself have seen that.Although I PMed the exact post and line, no action was taken.Which is rather disappointing.They do however, usually respond to pms and take the proper action a lot of times.
And Mods, it would be very nice if you could stop calling peoples actions dumb.Especially since this is the feedback forum.Have respect for others, being a mod doesnt put you above or beneath anybody else.

The fact is GS need your Admiship at this point, you have done hard work in this rock field for years, and when it came to give you a retun, you left the garden open for all humans and super humans. I have to agree with the thoughts expressed by Islamabad. No one should be allowed to insult Islam and Pakistan on Gupshup. Whatever people are doing outside Gupshup is their own concern and whatever is happenning in the world vis-a-vis free speech is a different matter, but rules need to be enforced on Gupshup about this matter. We must not allow people to think that they can come on Gupshup, insult/make fun of our religion and country, and Gupshup admin will just readily acquiesce to it.
There are numerous other approaches to humor. Using religious or nationalistic themes for this purpose is purely done with the intention to create mischief and seek attention, and many times hurts the sentiments of the majority of guppies.
I also agree that no one should be allowed to make fun of any other religion either. A level of basic politeness and courtesy should prevail over the forums.
That said, it is true also that recently it does seem that the admin has taken some steps in this direction, which is great :k: Hope to see even further progress in this regard since I feel we still have some way to go, and kudos for what’s been done already
I'm happy to be here when I can and I do the best that I can when I am. But like any other Admin or Moderator, I can easily miss things.
So....I will continue to stress that if you find something offensive, please send a message to the moderator of that section. If you find that you don't get a response or if you are unsatisfied with the resulting action or inaction, then please, make a effort and take it to the next level. Contact Admin.

This place is for you to enjoy but do remember....our team is comprised of volunteers.....hard-working, dedicated but unpaid people that are taking time away from their families, work and other occupations to make this place better. Treat them with respect and they will bend over backwards for you.

Muzna you know for a fact that i have had problems with the way this site is run. But heck even i will personally say things were far more coherent, forget that they were better when you or fraudia took an active role in gupshup.
Just some things to mention if you decide to take an active part once again.
The rules for anything, moving posts or bannings changes on the whim of the admins or depending on who is posting. Some people are truly immortal and admins actually beg members to come back after they have been banned. So much for admin power eh?
No clear rules. This is basically because admin likes to change them when ever they wish.
One thing i would request is that you lot draw up a set of guidelines or rules and enforce them across the board. Because that is not certainly happening now.
Although some of what you have written is not really clear to me, I'm sure that we have been over most of the material before.
You know full well that the minute one or two people draw up some hard and fast rules and/or guidelines, there will be a group that will not like them. This is why the Moderators and Admins are chosen from amongst the Gupshup membership. These are not people that we brainwash into a doctrine and then carefully control. They are active participants that are offered an opportunity to participate in the evolution of this board. They offer their input and try their hand at implementation. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't...just like everything else in life.
From a management perspective, we have a set of policies that we will not stray from. These policies have been designed to accommodate change, the ever present precussor to growth. We also know that some members have more difficulty than others in adjusting to change and that is where we face our greatest obstacles.
You CM, have been around for a long time and we look towards members like yourself to be a stabilizing factor. With your advice in view, I will try my best to take a more active role.
Muzna the admin impose lenghts on signatures. On whether images can be pasted in sigs or not. If you can post porn or not. If you can insult someone or not. There are tact and open rules on gupshup. They are enforced and those who dont like it complain. Of course when they complain you can either choose to listen or not to listen. Just look at the whole "images in a sig" fiasco.
You chose a rule and enforced. Those who didnt like it complained and your admin ignored it. They had to comply.
This a website of the membership, then why arent the mods elected? If this is a private run website, which it is, you can easily enforce your own website. You cant have your cake and eat it as well.
You use life as an example where the government uses hard and fast rules which you must comply with.
I dont get this whole issue of not offending members. As you can see enough members are always offended about something or the other. The decision is do you want their respect or not. Because as you can see with the whole "insulting the quran threads" and others there is not much respect for the admin team. The mod team is a different issue as they have no direct influence on policy at all.
That is all i ask for. I know for certain i am not the only one who would be much happier with you around. Atleast you are honest and straight forward about everything you do.
