No wonder crime is so high. People want to own them like they own vehicles. Will banks start new financing schemes…?
A proper branded pistol comes for no less than a 100,000 Rupees. Local variants come for a few thousand.
This is a horribly high figure which might lead to horrific outcomes.
Why dont our authorities pay attn to these little things that cause large problems!?
I have a Arminus 7 Shot Magnum my father left me i cant buy the rounds because 375 is prohibited bore as my licence states i can own 1 rifle, 1 Pistol/Revolver, 1 Shotgun guess what ; if i am being allowed to legally keep 3 weapons on one licence, why not. And ordinarily i will only be allowed 35 rounds for each weapon to be on my person, however by writing to the DCO or District App Ofcr i can have my quota raised 100/200 the list goes on.
Some people i know very well, even have military weapons such as the Mp5, G3, Hk51 in their collection and guess what? Its all ligit because they have the right pirmit. Then they are those who feel they dont need a permit, they go to DARRA and buy as many weapons and ammo as they might need and cache them somwehere in their villages.

You’re right about some ppl owning military weapons. Few months ago the govt had issued licenses for MP5s, G3s, AK47s and some other serious guns to some ministers and senior govt officers. All these things create too many loops for the ill intentioned to take advantage of.
btw, do you have any info about the current licensing procedures, how it’s done, what the issuing authorities make sure of before issue, do licensed arms retailers play by rules and sell only on showing valid license? and which category allows one to hold three guns on one license?
Firstly applying for the normal man is almost impossible without under the table assistance.. "nudge"...;)
If a person want's to apply the best place to go is the Local Magistrates Court or town Kitcheri ; as for checks well the red tape starts with a verification by special branch: basically this is a visit by a Taftishi Officer or Inspector who will check that the person applying for the licence is actually resident at the address stated on the application and submits his findings to Special Branch who forward it to the issuing authority.
However people circumvent the verification by kindly donating towards the taftishi officers fmaily fund...:D
Secondly if you know the DCO in Pindi or a higher or an SSP in the Local police force you can get a lot done, its as easy as 1,2,3. Applying for a licence is a pain unless you use personal channels.
Coming to the point on Registered Arms Dealers selling to individuals without licences, this happens all the time as Arms Dealers usually have to keep a record of weapons in their inventory however they always buy more then they state on the said list and usually its the rather exotic weapons that get sold quickly and i'd say hastily due to overlying reasons.
Buying an illegal weapon is not difficult at all, you will be suprised what 3000 ruppees can buy you now days.
As for having multiple weapons on one licence; 1 Rifle: Sportsman ship: Sharpshooting/Self Defence/ Hunting, 2: Shotgun: Hunting/Self Defence, 3: Revolver/Pistol: Self Defence. As long as the bore is not prohibited all you have to do is state your reason for adding an additional weapon to your exisiting licence and pay the appropriate stamps..
