a gun battle in the town of Beit Shean in northern Israel.
The fighting erupted when three unidentified gunmen opened fire a polling station where members of the Likud Party were voting in a leadership contest.
According to unconfirmed reports, one of the attackers was a Palestinian wearing a suicide explosives belt which failed to detonate.
Reports say the five dead include some of the gunmen.
Likud Party members have been voting throughout Israel to decide on a new leader, in preparation for a general election early next year.

Israel should leave Gaza and the west bank, dismantle the settlements and then they could draw a permamnent border having a brotherly state and thqat ******* Israel for a short time, this would allow us to concentrate muslim strategy in a Palestinian homeland and then gradually undermine Israel's security. :)
The loss of israelis is always funny, they butcher my brothers and sisters in Palestine man. Also, a homeland for the Palestinians is vital-this solves both problems.
Also,remember that in a state of war between muslims and Israel/jews-we can send waves of attacks, incur massive loss BUT come back again and again. They dont have that luxury.
