that’s us..
Romans not included :P
Allah is All Knowing . We are guinea pigs for our collective human experience. It is only us who learn from our experiences. Allah has complete knowledge of everything.
In order to relate with the idea of God some people put God into human situations and I think that's what you're doing here.
"Super Men" not included, they are the one who told us that there are all these gods...and after the introduction to god we were told that now you have become guniea pigs, because you belived....
God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and all other alls.
But He made us the way we are. He didnt make us perfect, He didnt make us free from worldly desires, He didnt make us free from sufferings.. instead, He made us all with our tiny imperfections - and then, He made the rules for his dirty game - let’s just look at the simplest of rules.
thou shall not covet thy neighbours wife - how stupid of God not to have made married women appear ugly to all except her hubby!
He, the Almighty, left loopholes for humans to explore and go against his rules, so that He can fry the poor fellows in his torture chamber. He, the all powerful, doesnt destroy whom he calls the cause of all evil - the devil, that’d end the problem too rapidly and without any sadistic pleasure to amuse Him. He doesnt reveal His existance in a way that’ll appeal to the logical mind of a human, but prefers to let us fight over which way He wants to pay Him our obeisance.
It’s time we rose against this tyrrany of the Almighty and asked for a fairer deal. make us perfect, or dont expect us to be perfect; or atleast, dont convince some of us to believe in you so much that he’ll kill his brothers n this world in an attempt to spread “the truth”. Down with oppression from the heavens!!

sadist God! Hail Humans!!
Tsk, tsk, Queer Moshaii,
"Down with oppression from the heavens!! sadist God! Hail Humans!!"
I suggest you do some re-reading of the Geetanjali....it will calm you down, like the soft ripples of the streams of Bengal....
Considering we are still in Bengal that is....smile
I don't know about guinea pigs, but I sure feel like a Rat in HIS experimental lab...
Forever, hitting the wrong lever and experiencing the Shock, instead of the Food/Renumeration....
I sure must be doing something very wrong! Unless, some rats have been Deliberately conditioned to chose the wrong and hence, must pay the price....
In that case I say,
"The morning will surely come, the darkness will vanish, and Thy voice pour down in golden streams breaking through the sky."
-Robindronath Thakur
Dehatan,
rats, guniea pigs, hamsters, we are all the same.. "rat" is a bit too strong, lets say you are a mouse, okay? :)
mmm..i dont know if i should be taking what you said to be a reflection of your real-life experiences, but your words have something sad and spooky about them. but you certainly got the right attitude, it never hurt anyone to have Hope.
yup, i too think i ought to read Gitanjali again, i read it at high-school and didnt really do it justice..
btw, i'm not bengali, i come from another part of india, where people eat even more fish than bengalis. :)
Hmmmm,
Poor God...
she has put all her self in us..what we make of ourselves determines if she passed or failed. If I make my life happy ,,, she passess, otherwise not...Sometimes I feel bad for her helplessness.
Its sort of like ,,,, err.. when someone says "I love you" , puts so much in the other persons hand...
World is the way it is....Looking for the meaning to life in wrong places, would make it apear BAD.....Satisfaction with ourselves , would make it look Good...
Its just the way it is..we paint it in our colors..
Queer.
What is Gitanjali's theme..( I know this might be a stupid question)

"btw, i'm not bengali,.."
My Dear Queer I know that...
My mentioning about Bengal comes from our discussion about the Bengali Goddess...I meant the Gods as well....smile
Fish you say! One thing I could never acquire a taste for....too many KaaNtays for my taste! laugh!
I hear you about Geetanjali, me too...read it, but doing justice/being able to decipher the Real meaning...another matter...
Since you are in India, try listening to his works in music form.
When sung in the correct soor and taal, both the Geetanjali and Geetobitaan, are Touching....
About what I said being "sad and spooky", laugh!
Well, I choose to remain a bit of a pessimist...
That way, I don't fly too high, or take for granted the good things that do come my way...

Nova,
that's an interesting way to look at "her" :) a helpless and trusting person who's given you what she could, leaving the rest to you. i hope that's something close to what you meant, coz your post is quite "open" - plenty of interpretations, and thought provoking.
Geetanjali's theme? i'm not a person with a poetic bent of mind, but as the name suggests, it looks like an offering of songs to the Almighty for his providings. (geet = song, anjali = pious offering). and i suspect your asking the "stupid question" was pretty much a subtle hint. if it were, i'd like to say that i got no problem with God, its the concept of his/her being all-powerful and the doctrine of you-better-obey-him-or-burn-in-hell thing i dont like, sounds really immature for a person like God to practice, if he/she exists in the first place.
Dehatan,
i've got a alive-n-kicking rabindrosangeet machine staying a couple of rooms away from mine, (also sings what he claims are bengali "pop" songs by hemant da). maybe i'll ask him one of these days to give a couple of us a recitation of the geetanjali.
and glad that i finally know a bengali (at least half-bengali) who doesnt like fish :)
Queer,
Do you know any good Tagore sites on the net...
I tried to send you an E mail...didnt go through..your add has problem..
Nova,
check your mail. :)
er.. you sure you got my addy right? you might have missed the underscore.
Queer,
Is Geetanjali available on CD?
eeks!
what did i do to make myself appear as an authority on geetanjali/tagore? :)CD? i have no idea, but i'll check up and let you know.. i can email you the text of geetanjali in english, if you wish, but keep it top secret, or i get sued by publishers.. if you can read bong, maybe i can give you a url where you can find the full bengali version..
Queer,
Please e-mail me the English version. I want to read something spiritual to uplift myself (J/k). I can't read Bangla. Thanks for your offer.
