Thanks.

Gulf Air Checked In and Hand Carry baggage Maximum Weight Limit

Call the airline and ask?

Gulf Air Checked In and Hand Carry baggage Maximum Weight Limit

Typically, you're allowed one hand carry and two suitcases if your final destination is Pakistan without breaking your journey. I believe the weight restriction is now 50lbs each for checked luggage

Thanks for quick reply, my flight is from Chicago to Paris, then Bahrain and finally Karachi.

Re: Gulf Air Checked In and Hand Carry baggage Maximum Weight Limit

Jias, check out the Gulf Air’s website: Baggage Allowances Baggage InformationGulf Air |

"Gulf Air Codeshare flights operated by American Airlines to and from the USA or Canada, have a special piece concept applicable

Economy

Two checked pieces, provided the total linear dimensions (height + width + depth) for both bags added together does not exceed 273 cm (107 inches) and the weight of each bag does not exceed 23 kg (50 lbs).

Bags t**hat weigh more than 23 kg (50 lbs) but below 32 kg (70 lbs) will incur a fixed overweight charge of USD50.00 for economy passengers. **Any passengers wishing to carry an additional piece(s) over and above their free allowance, will be charged as per American Airlines policy which is available on their website."

If there is an** infant** traveling with you, his/her baggage allowance is:

"Regardless of class infants will be allowed one checked piece, provided that the total linear dimensions (height + width + depth) does not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) and the weight of the bag does not exceed 23 kg (50 lbs)."

Also, the outward flight from Chicago to Paris is likely to be on American Airlines so the above information should be valid. However, in the unlikely case that your outward flight is operated by some other airline, the following info is relevant:

"Gulf Air tickets issued for travel on other Airlines to/from the USA and Canada

If you purchase a Gulf Air ticket to/from the USA or Canada that involves a connection with a flight operated by another airline (for American Airlines see policy above), your free baggage allowance is based on a combination of how many piece(s) you can carry and a maximum weight per individual piece. **Individual airlines have varying policies on this, please refer to their website to ensure you have the most up to date information **as to your baggage allowance and any potential charges before you set out on your journey."

For hand carry, the following info is relevant:

"CABIN/ HAND BAGGAGE:

Economy Class:
One bag (maximum dimensions 45 x 40 x 30 cm or 17 x 15 x 12 inches)
Total weight: **6 kg
**
Infant (All Classes):

One bag (maximum dimensions 44 x 35 x 20 cm or 18 x 14 x 8 inches)

Total weight: 3 kg"

In any case, as Khattichic wisely suggested above, it’s a good idea to call the airline office directly too and ask them about baggage allowance just to be sure and to avoid any unpleasant surprises while checking in!

Have a nice trip!

Re: Gulf Air Checked In and Hand Carry baggage Maximum Weight Limit

Thanks, I want to know 50 lb per baggage is must or it is ok if the weight is over 1or 2 lb in checked and hand luggage.

Re: Gulf Air Checked In and Hand Carry baggage Maximum Weight Limit

1-2 pounds extra allowance depends on the check-in agent...you may or may NOT be lucky...be on the safe side...travel within your weight allowance.avoid hassle at check-in time.

if you are over your allowance per bag, they may charge you $50 for extra weight up to 32 kg.
