Ok so today I bought bisquick… N made gulab jamuns n then went flat again in oil.. The just broke
dont know wts wring…
ok I used 1/4 cup carnation
1/4 cup bisquick
whipping cream(organic .. Is this a prob???)
Mixed n made dough which was not sticky n smooth Ball. Dough also did not stick in bowl…
had little sheen on it… Dough was not stretchy it was a little breakable like khoya
Made smooth balls n started frying on low… After one minut balls came up n I increased heat to medium… (I have electric stove )… N then they started to break n …
why are you not cooking them at medium heat? why change the heat from low to medium? are you leaving the dough out for long. i used to make gulabjamans long time ago but i had to make sure i fry soon after making the dough or they would break.
I agree with Lusi…don’t keep changing the frying temperature. Keep it even and steady. I have an electric stove too and I don’t have any issues with frying. Are you using a karhai/wok type to fry in? I use a regular 10 or 12 inch skillet. Also, I use Crisco shortening to fry them in vs oil. It sounds like your dough is ok, they shouldn’t break unless you are moving them around too much?
Gulab jamun is always trial and error. Keep at it, and I’m sure you’ll get them perfect!
Thankyou khatti for reply…Hmmm ok I will keep it on medium …I use vegetable oil to fry..
Illtry once more..
pone more question..
pis the dought stretchy or breakable?like khoya?
Nope I don’t move… I put them in .. They Come on top in a minute n then they start to puff up.. N kind of absorbs Olin break..
pleats see I’ll try once more .. With half cup
