gul bakauli

I had heard this word a lot from my nanny jaan and this is the image i had in my mind about it. I had a chance to take a pic recently so sharing it with you.

Does anyone know anything about this gul bakauli???

is that the urdu version of tulips!!? i mean that word!! not sure, NEVER heard it! but yeah, we got the same flowers in our back yard too, they're red though!! really pretty!!

is that gul-e-bakauli? really?

i remember that thin story book from childhood..called gul-e-bakauli..the one which had an old lady..jis ka aik baal dhop may dekho to woh namodar ho jati thi..that had some shehzadi too..and it had a flower too..

so i was thinking that i might see a fairy tale thing munh besornay wala icon

sorry to bother again..what i remember from story..gul-e-bakauli is a water flower..and i checked..it is..found in sindh and punjab..and the english name is “Water hyacinth” for it

Hey, I read that story too. However, I always thought gul-e-bakawali was a made-up word. So the flower actually exists. Nice.

Destinee, I don’t think these flowers looked like Tulips. I will check next time i go there.
