Guitar Tabs /Chords for Nursery Rhymes

I have been searching on the net for tabs/chords for Childrens Nursery Rhymes… have found a few but not that many. Can someone please point me in the right directions (URLs) or better still share some here.

Does anyone have tabs/chords for classic urdu/hindi filmi songs (e.g. Kabhi Kabhi etc)?

MM

Nursery rhyme tablature. Hrmm, I’ve never come accross them, but then again, I’ve never searched for them either. Which ones in particular are you looking for? I can possibly tab them for you in sheet music/tablature format if you want. I did a search for some Bollywood guitar tabs, and came accross this site;

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the offer Fret Wizard. If you could perhaps tab the following then that would get me started for now:

  1. Happy Birthday
  2. Heads, Shoulders, Knees & Toes
  3. If you’re happy & you know it clap your hands
  4. The wheels on the bus go round & round
  5. Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells (not really a nursery Rhyme but still a good one for children)

As for the URL u provided… I had a quick look but couldn’t find Kabhi Kabhi. Could you possibly tab that one?

I am only at beginer/intermediate level and know the basic chords, so am looking for simple tunes to practice with whilst baby sitting (why not kill 2 birds with one stone, eh?)

Thanks

No problem. I can tab these out for you. I'm not familiar with "head shoulders, knees and toes" though. Maybe I just can't remember it at the moment. I'll do Kabhi Kabhi for you as well.

Here are most of those tabs. I'll do Jingle Bells for you later. I tabbed them all in the key of C, except for kabhi kabhi, which is A. But keep in mind that you can transpose them into any key you want to.

It's a great package called "Powertab Editor".

Thanks Fret Wizard...you really are a wizard at this!

I have a mp3 of 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees & Toes' (along with a stack of other nursery Rhymes) I can send to you (via PM) if you like.

My daughter loves it when I play these on the guitar. Can't wait to see her reaction when I play Kabhi Kabhi (one of her favourite songs).

Thanks once again. MM

No problem. I"m positive I've heard that one, but I just can't remember it right now. Post it in the audio section, and I'll pick it up from there. Regarding Kabhi Kabhi, some of the rythm may be off a bit (I tabbed it with the melody in my head), but I'm sure you'll be able to adjust to it.

Just noticed an error at the beginnng of this one. The third note at the beginning (15) should be a 19.

Mystery man, here’s “Jingle Bells” I found it off the net. It should suffice.

Thanks Fret Wizard. I have now registered myself on the guitarists.net site - looks like a useful site!

As for Kabhi Kabhi, the notes starts off on the 19th Fret which is too far down the fret board for a beginner like me; is there an alternative tab for Kabhi Kabhi that I can play further up the fret board?

MM

Fret Wizard, I have been unable to upload the mp3 of "Heads & Shoulders, Knees & Toes" as the max size for attachments is 75KB and my file is actually 102KB. Any suggestions?

Sure there is. All you have to do for example is decrease each number by 10 to play it on the 9th fret. You can choose to play it on any position on the fretboard, just decrease all the numbers on the tablature by the difference between 19 (or all relative numbers on the tablature) and the fret that you choose to play it in. That's all there is to it. The reason I tabbed it on 19 is because I thought it sounded best there.

There is no support for uploading sound files as of yet. What you do is record the song using your PC microphone, by clicking on "Record New Message" in the GS new topic window. Then it will bring up a window. If you are unable to do that, feel free to email me the mp3 if it's not too large.
