Guests

So there are some guests who come visit you and don’t leave. I mean you like them and all but now it’s kinda getting late, kids want to go to bed, you are supressing your yawns and a headache is giving birth. All of a sudden the lights get dim and you can only hear sounds not voices…you have a smile plastered on your mouth and you find yourself nodding. But the guests push themselves back into the sofa and plan to stay there till death do us part

How do you handle it?

Re: Guests

tehy are rehmat dont call them zhemat :hehe:

lol @ post 1

I dont ask them to leave, I just let them know that I sleep early.

I also keep looking at the clock when they are talking (just kidding)

Re: Guests

I know it’s rude to tell guests to leave. :hinna:

Re: Guests

Re: Guests

:smack:

hahaha! lol

Re: Guests

Ok on a serious note , ask them would you like to watch our wedding movie , or our cruise movie or some other home made movie.
Specially ask for the one they have already watched with you , they will surely like to leave after 10 minutes of watching.
If you do not have movies of that kind you can use some big thick photo albums in the same manner.

There are many other tricks I am compiling a list and will post shortly.

Re: Guests

^^^ Good idea, except that our cruise photos are kinda you know…nice

Re: Guests

just fall asleep :)

Re: Guests

OK , I have decided to not post the list I compiled so that this thread gets longer.

OK now I have decided to post them. kar lo jo karna hay.:snooty:
1.First of all if you invited them then at the invitation time tell them the time of the party from 6 pm to 10 pm etc.
2. Stand up, stretch, yawn, tell your spouse to make coffee for morning while you put the cat out. If they don’t take the hint from that, simply state, “Gee Farkhunda, as fascinating as you are, we have to be up early in the morning, so I must say goodnight.”
3. I would just head off to bed thank them for coming and leave the rest to my other half she is used to late nights!!
4. just go to the closet and get the coats out. “Thanks for coming over”.
5. If I stay up any longer, I won’t be good for anything tomorrow"
6. “Oh look at the time, how did it get sooo late?”
7. “So, what have you got planned for tomorrow? I sure have a busy day, so I guess I better get some sleep”
8.“We must do this again some time. Only earlier”
9.“Don’t know about you, but it’s way past my bed time.”
10. And if it’s more than a couple of hanger oners, " OK, it’s check out time. Pay your rent on the way out"
11. Ask them if they need a pillow and a comforter and if they ask why , insist that they spend the night they will surely get the hint and leave.
12 Let’s show baby pictures! LOL that would have them grabbing their coats! Compliment it with your baby stories with each picture.

Re: Guests

My mom has a set time of sleeping which is 11 pm. If any guest stays later than that, she walks into her room and goes to sleep leaving my dad and us to entertain them. In very rare cases, she stays up. She just says, acha now it’s way past my bedtime.. otherwise I am going to get a headache and I have to wake up early too. And it’s true, if she doesn’t sleep by a certain time, she doesn’t feel good the next day. By now, I think the entire community is aware that she’s an early sleeper :hehe:

Now ofcourse we kids have friends over till late and we don’t mind but with some uncle & aunty who just DONT want to leave, we say, chale ab aap yaheen rukjayen.. let me get the room ready for you to stay in.. itni raat ko kahan jayenge aap log. And instantly they get up saying, aray nahi.. it’s so late, we must get going and ofcourse we keep insisting they stay back until they have put on the shoes and are almost out the door

Re: Guests

:hmmm:

Now thatsss exactly my strategy lolzzzz
if its too late we just ask em, aap aaj raat yahan hi thehar jayen waisey bhi subah honey wali hai, aap guest room main so jayen apkey bachey mere room main so jayen aur main couch per raat guzar longa, please stay, and they will be right away “nayi subah yeh kerna hai woh kerna hai its ok hum to waisey bhi janey lagey hain”

Re: Guests

i usually start packing things up.. like putting the toys away, putting things in the dishwasher.. u know just clearing things up. Also, I change bubz into her pjs and shes usually a very good indication of “its late and i need my sleep” :k:
