Guess what

first I saw a bolly movie projected itself as based on Shakespear’s Othello ( Omkara). Well the movie was well made and well acted :k:

Now I saw an ad in the news an upcomming Pakistani movie is projecting it as Adaptation of ’ The count of Monte Cristo " The movie has an unknown starcast*.*

Regardless of how the movie fares at box office I see it a refereshing change that some people in bollywood and pakistan are going for adaptation of famous novels instead of making charbas of english movies

Re: Guess what

why dont they think of a fresh idea. make a movie about culture or plight of woman or corruption, then create a pakistani hero who fights these things. :D

Re: Guess what

In Pakistan even good movie wont do well now a days, because most of the cinemas are converted into Shopping malls or petrol pumps (gas station). People are not interested in watching movie, even if they are convinced that this one is good.

Also It does not go well with audience. The made 'Zever' it flopped. A good movie with excellent story depicting evils of pakistani culture and fairly good acting.

Now its all about revival. hit and try, what ever works

Re: Guess what

pakistanis dont want to admit that there are evils in their country :)

Re: Guess what

Please elaborate

If you are talking about pakistani movie do not address these issues then you are wrong :flower1:

Re: Guess what

the big reason pakistanis "awaam" don't go to watch a movie in cinema is b/c they all ( huge number) have cable/ dish channels at home where they've 24/7 access to bollywood, hollywood and all sort of popular international media.
