I don't have any probs with gays and lesbians and as far as making out is concerned both the hetro and homo types should get a room ... sometimes it gets really awkwards specially if you have elders around

Well it certainly won't be the last in the sense that one witnesses such acts regularly in NYC and especially in the downtown area, that is if you are familiar with NYC's geography. And honestly, I don't scope out such acts and I just happened to be at such a location.

What ever happened to tolerance? I think gay people cannot help being gay, which is just the same for straight people. Cannot blame a blind person for walking into another person, right? How Allah will judge them is up to Allah.

i'll NOT argue but the public display of this kinda behaviour is deterimental to the society at large and islam doesn't condone it at all. there are norms that we all have to follow. this is a western philosophy and i do NJOT subscribe to it...i re-iterate, they must be punished for creating public nuissance. there are laws that every1 has to obey. they are menace to society, a cancer and a naasoor**

Is making statements like all homos will burn in hell or all homos should be locked up etc etc. also not against teaching of Islam regarding tolerance? Western christian fundamentalists will tell you that gay people choose to be gay, which is utterly preposterous. (Pat Robertson claimed that 911 was the cause of homos, liberals, and feminists). Sexual orientation is not a matter of choice but its is something that a gay person is born with just like one has no say in choosing the color of our eyes. You may say that Allah declared war on Sodom and Gomorrah by destroying those civilizations but keep in mind that those people of antiquity chose to engage in homosexual activities. Hence the wrath of God. That brings me the my point: choice versus enslave. (Sounds like one of the Matrix movies). I believe Allah will judge a persons based on their internal tendencies and the choices they made based on those tendencies.

In an "Islamic" country you can make a statement that display of immoral behavior should not be allowed publicly but US of A is, for the most part, a secular nation where "freedom for all" reigns supreme. What would happen if one day some nut said all left handed people must go through intense physical therapy in order to become right handed? Suffice to say that it would be wrong as left handed persons did not ask to be left handed. Gay people didn't ask to be gay and should be treated as cancerous ailment. Islam teaches tolerance towards everyone even those those defy Allah in worse manner then homosexuality.

OK lets put it another way, isn't giving a unrelated woman a second look equate to rape of that woman? How many times have you looked at a woman the second time let alone thinking how beautiful her body or face is? Lets not be hypocrites.
