At GS we have always prided ourselves at trying to be ahead of the curve, member focused, being innovative while maintaining the core principles and ideals that have been with us since the founding of this site. Some we succeeded in and some we failed in, but we always took chances to see what else we can do to make the site and user experience better and to keep pace with times. Starting April 7, 2008 you will see some changes in GS.
GS is built upon content where we strive for quality over quantity. It’s a medium where healthy debates are encouraged and worldly and spiritual advices are given. It’s where you share your emotions and seek the approval of your peers in many matters of your live. While doing so, the delicate balance of quality control verses freedom of speech (written) is often a grueling task. The current team has excelled in this tough job and the sheer volume of your posts and the rank of GS among competing sites proves the track record. On the same note, the founders of this site have realized the need to give our moderators a slight break. We are introducing a special section within GS called GS UnPlugged where moderation will be minimum as long as the posters adhere to simple rules: No Nudity and No Profanity.
The current General Forum will be renamed to All Views and moved to this GSUP section. Along with that, all sports and multi-media forums will also be transferred. To run this section, I have asked Samad to lend a hand. Samad needs no introduction as he is one of the most prolific website content builders I have come across. In short time, he has vastly expanded pakmusic and other media related sites. It is this experience and insight of Samad that will help bring content and traffic to GSUP. The current mods will be reassigned to the other forums to make room for Samad’s choice of team. In his capacity of GSUP Director, Samad will oversee all matters related to this section and will be potentially making skin/theme changes as well. He will report directly to Kamal for organizational matters. Ehsan will remain the overall incharge and Director of GS. He will work closely with Samad to ensure the integrity of the site and make sure strategic objectives are met while various tactical solutions are put in place to generate extra volume of content/traffic.
Expect changes being implemented in short order. We have some background technical tasks to accomplish to make a smooth transition to the new team. Please bear with us as we rearrange/merge/create new forums in this section. Watch for this thread for more information. Feel free to discuss the merits elsewhere. I will open this thread for general discussion as we launch the new section.
