GS in your life

Re: GS in your life

**How we all initially discovered GS; exactly how, when, doing what & how and why GS appealed to us? **

same boring way while googling in 2001… been stuck since that time enjoyed reading quality nonsense and some fun stuff. did not register as i thought i would waste time in replying, better just stick to reading and enjoying, but had to register in 2003 just to ask abt some computer related problem

If, why and how GS has changed our lives, for better or worse, over the years (or months) since we became a part of GS and GS a part of our lives?

changed for better in more than one way, made loads of friends and gained lots or knowledge and had lots of top quality fun. cherished memories.

And, if/how it’s affected daily routines, social interactions, relationships, career, education, decisions, time management and priorities etc?

Need to work on it. :hmmm:

I was looking for fashion pictures I think, and showbiz news and drama reviews, and the like. I noticed it gets updated more often than some of the other entertainment websites, and people would post fashion pictures from sites that I didn't even know existed.

Um, it helped me in times I needed some help. Gave me a hobby. Gave me something to do when I didn't have anything else really. But that can be a bad thing. I just think of how much stuff I could have done with my life with the hours I spent here? Pretty sad.

But I made some friends. Although this past year, I've had very little time to come in and check up on threads as regularly as I used to. I'm definitely over my addiction though.

daily routines - at one point, this place had become a seriously disturbing distraction. So, yeah GS can screw you over if you don't watch it, like anything else.

Social interactions - in college, I probably would have done better studying outside and socializing more than spending time on here. Its nice to have friends you can see face to face.

Same goes for everything else. Things definitely can go bad if you don't spend enough time in the real world paying attention to your real issues and real problems and your real goals.

:)

I came across this site in Sept of 2001. I was very low key and did not post much. During that time there were heated debates between Muslims and Americans, mostly about terrorism. It was basically all across the board. I really do not know what I was looking for; probably Pakistani sites.

It appealed to me because I have not seen interaction of so many Pakistanis on one board. The previous and current boards that I am active on are like another planet. It shows you how it is like to be a minority. Discussing terrorism and Pakistani issues are quite different here than in those sites, very different.

It gave me perspective on how people live and view life, culture, religion and social issues. I doubt most of them discuss these issues as actively as they do on Gupshup. This is our portal to express ourselves, views, opinions, advice and whatever.

Gaining perspective is never bad, but like everything too much Gupshup can be bad.

I don't think anything like Gupshup can affect your life in bad way. This is an interactive forum. It has not made any radical changes in my life, if I was not here probably be doing something else. I use it to pass time, not affect my priorities. Like Muzna says; Gupshup= Time well served.
