Is there a way to have a temporary page stating the time GS will be back again so one doesn’t have to try again and again to see if its back yet or not.
Yesterday, for example, i tried the GS address at least a thousand times to see if it was back and it was very frustrating.

so my question is for the admins and the mod-squad. Is there any hope of this being implemented?

They (Techies) normally broadcast it well before time and put up "we'll be back" message when they have planned upgrading/maintenance to do. You can guess the 2nd part of my post :D

hey it doesnt’ matter if it is pre-planned or not… all they have to do is put up a message saying when it will be back. Once they have the required code in place they’d just have to change the time and date everytime they are shuttin it down.

Chacha jee :smack: This was not an upgrade but it was unplanned, this was a breakdown and the techies weren’t aware of it. They were notified and then they fixed the problem. It was unexpected.

when it is not pre-planned then it simply means that servers are not available and hence no message can be out....

it was out for quite a while .. actually few hours ... and servers were NOT available... once known, it came up in few minutes (I know it took only three minutes to come back after I called) so in such situations, asking for these messages is not understandable ....

dont make it sound like this was the only time. It has gone down before and we had no idea when it was coming back. Sometimes its back within a few minutes, somtimes its hours. I understand that no msg can be sent out when it has broken down. I am merely suggesting that there should be a msg atleast for the planned upgrading and stuff.

for unplanned, it's like asking for a leave in school because of fever two days before you suffer from it.

There is hope. although it depends on what the situation is, if its some issue with servers, then there is no warning, and since servers are down no message can be up.

the issue is more of when some issue happens and the relevant people find out about it. We will be reviewing options on how we can reolve it, and then whichever approach we take it will be implemented on a going forward basis.

Azkar is really motivated to do so, because I had suggested that otherwise my option would be to give all guppies his mobile number and they can call him :)
