GS and the social interaction it has to offer: something to reflect over...

it is so really sad to see, people enjoying a riff raff or creating some, among GS members - admin, mods, & participant members in any pair or cluster of cliques.

there ideally should / ought not ever have been any mod/s related or participant/s related animosities, mis-understandings and deliberate acts of foolish arrogance, mean spirited actions or built resentments. but, there is it, implicit or explicit. some has real basis to it, an some is just created for ‘fun’.

& there is no effort to resolve it among people. either they themselves or their perceived or presumed opponents do not try. or maybe there is real rancour their for what ever reasons, that is beyond repairs. & that is unfortunate.

there are personal goals everywhere and not always a sense of clear cut good will to be a good fellow participant, one can expect respect and trust from.
you come in peace, you stay in peace and offer and learn constructive things from each others’ life experiences, and you leave in peace.

any thoughts about how such occurrences can be prevented with CLEAR intentions to not unduly hurt anybody, ever? granted individual differences of views and perspectives, disagreements on issues and opinions, but any thoughts on how group cohesion, team work and a sense of friendship may be instilled, as much across the board as can be possible?

These forums are a huge canvas , a collage of people of varied linguistic skills , a broad range of age , many many religious beliefs, different IQ levels, different psyches. So it is next to impossible to see the kind of cohesiveness you will see in a Rotary Club , Lions Club , or in a literary club crowd. Here everybody is free to participate on any topic , there are no barriers or no filters in place to weed out unwanted or unsolicited participation.
Just today someone opened a thread based on a chain email , but did not bother to read material posted by them and then started throwing a tantrum when someone posted an innocent comment , perceiving it as a negative comment.:smack:
