Has anyone ever had a growth/polyp on their cervix? If so, did the dr send you for any specific tests or treat it, or is it expected to just go away on its own?
I had a pap smear 6 months ago and everything was fine, but last week I was seen by the dr and she said she found a growth on my cervix. She said keeping my age in mind (mid 20s) its nothing of concern and I only need to come back every 6 months for a pap smear to check if all is well.
However, having a history of breast cancer in my mom’s side of the family, and 5 out of her 7 aunts dying of ovarian and breast cancer, I’m VERY scared that this might be a sign of much more serious things to come.
Should have clarified, this was my gynecologist... and no, she said that its not that uncommon in people my age, but given my family history, and the fact that I have slight PCOS I'm apprehensive.....
I should have expressed my concerns to her but I felt like maybe I'm overreacting, but it's been weighing heavily on my mind since then.

Then you should go back to the doctor and voice your concern or get a second opinion.
