The military is there to balance regional power with our arch rivals. They can not reduce the minimum deterrence level as it will be a security breach and place Pakistani interests in danger.

It is not as simple as that. The vast majority of the society is tolerant and moderate (watch part 2). No religious party has ever done well in any Pak election 1970-2007. It is a few religious fundos who are politicized who are the problem, who resort to violence in the name of islam
