Here's what i make of this:
While fresh ideas and revolutionary design are to be encouraged. And thus far proving to be liked by most members of GS. I for one, feel that in the excitement of grab-it-all and see what we can fit, approach might hamper the otherwise traditional forum that GS has proven to be.
When you offer and combine just so much activity, the people often tend to lose interest in discussing anything at all. It can be overwhelming. Sure, there should be various venues that people can turn to for all sort of advice/expression, but where do you draw the line?
I think that's what Shikra and A_E were trying to say as well. That adding group may dilute and divert people's focus from the otherwise main forum which are the center of all discussions.
Don't get me wrong, i love everything that's going on at GS, it looks awesome. Just thought i'd draw your attention to the broader picture.
I'm not against Groups. I'm just saying and like Azkar pointed (they will serve a greater purpose once finalized), and i hope they do. :)
well said ....exactly my POV on this as well.
