haha...the achievement you are touting is having been slightly less crappy than india in "major tournaments" during the limited window of the last 2 years including a random non-wc event and the current world cup in which pak snuck into the semis with a record identical to india's.
i'll take the brutal 5-0 record over that nonsensical/unimpressive achievement any day.
We have not been slightly less crappy than India. We have reached the knockout stages in all t20 tournies, and that is what is under discussion. Also the record of Pakistan is not identical to India. Not only did we do not have a zero against our name in the super eights stage, the matches we did lose were close ones and not schlackings, resulting in a better NRR.
my limited point was that the pakistani glee over this loss is not rooted in general anti-india sentiment, rather in profound relief from the prospect of having to play and lose to india.
typically one would hope for an india-pak match and be disappointed if it doesn't materialize. why don't pakistanis feel the same way during world cups?
I've always said this, I feel happier to see Indians lose badly than Pakistan win. unless its a major win like a win in the knockout stages of an ICC tournament, maybe you remember what that felt like?
What you're seeing here is schadenfreude.. we know exactly how indians and indian media will react, and we savour the tears of anguish and despair. One of my favourite memories is the asia cup final where Mendis destroyed india. there was no question of Pakistan there yet I felt exactly as I do now.

nothing at all noteworthy my friend...
also, i just realized that i had erred grievously when discussing india's flawless record against pak in world cups...in another thread someone mentioned the 1996 quarter finals, which i had somehow forgotten. the record is actually 6-0...very naughty of you not to correct me. :)

i don't know what to say here. i don't think this kind of thinking represents most pakistanis - perhaps only your particular community, which is not surprising.
i would prefer a minor indian victory over a huge pakistani loss any day without hesitation. i'm sure any real fan of pakistan cricket would feel similarly in reverse. but after learning of your views on this subject and your life-consuming emotional investment in anti-indianism, i now realize that whatever joy i have felt over the 6-0 record, the pain and agony you felt must have been at least 100 times more powerful. i am actually feeling bad for bringing it up.
