The game went down to the wire i.e. 170+ is nearly always competitive (provided you have a decent bowling attack)
Are you guys suggesting that teams need to score 190+/- in every game? Don't think so. NZ are not Bangladesh
160-170 is a par score in T20Is, 175+/- is 50-50 and 190+ gives you 80% chance to win the match
Not impossible but not very gettable total either

Well-played Dilshan and NZ (thought they fought back really well to tie the game after bleeding 103 runs in the first 10 overs)
Neither team deserved to lose..

Not that this would be any consolation to NZ now but it is a super over win or loss only from a series or tournament POV. The actual game is still counted as a tie in the annals of cricket.

That’s actually true … even though Pakistan won the T20 series against Australia by virtue of their super over win in the second game, the series result is recorded in the annals as 1-1 and 1 tie although they now differentiate between Tie + super over win (T+W) and Tie + super over loss (T+L)
