Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
if this 13 floor mosque/community center gets built in that particular location how will muslims react around the world?
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
This is a non issue. Only those bowing to the ignorant red necks will have problem with the mosque...i hope the organisers do NOT back down.
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
I was in Manhattan yesterday and decided to check out the location. Park51 is almost 2 and a half blocks away from WTC site. There were some goras.. umm like blonde hair kind shouting with banners IN FAVOR of mosque. I was surprised. There was guy reading aloud from Bible that how its Muslims' right to built a mosque there.
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
^love america, love new yorkers even more
this is a wonderful way of showing the muslim world that americans are very tolerant/respectful of all religions and wouldn't give it a second thought before defending freedom of religion. this should shut those extreme biased views(of all religious backgrounds around the world) up really well
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
what this article says here makes sense and i agree:
What’s making this mosque question so controversial is the difference between legal and moral, between good and bad judgment. I think that’s what opponents of the project are saying, often in a ham-handed way:
*The gracious thing to do would be to relocate. But you can’t force graciousness. *
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
^You just cannot swallow the positive news of America and majority Americans.
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
^You just cannot swallow the positive news of America and majority Americans.
it's an issue of insensitivity. majority of americans are for the mosque being built including me but it's just in bad taste and disrespectful, yes but 400 of the victims were muslim you'll say but then what does all this have to do with the religious background of the victims? what's legal is supported by the 1st and 14th amendments but what's right is something these muslim organizers have to think long and hard about.
why 13 floors and why so in-your-face? i'm just getting an eery feeling that's all. forget about my religious background and name for a while and forget that you're muslim for just a second and look at this issue.
build the 13 floor mosque anywhere but that location. the word we're looking at is insensitivity, a memorial for the victims should be built there first........
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
^ You saw the video. It has nothing to do with insensitivity at all. Audience cheered the mayor. Media is much more sensitivve to these kind of issues but you had to pick a link to bring YOUR agenda.
The place was there it is just being extended as we all know. 13 or 5 what difference does it make.
Yes your background has to do with it, don't deny it or ask people to ignore it.
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
^just because you're biased doesn't mean everybody will be
i'm not biased and you just want to fight rather see the point i'm trying to make
did i say i dont support the mosque being built?? i do, i would die supporting freedom of religion. i said i see it as being disrespectful/insensitive that's all.
for me along with many, 9/11 was emotionally traumatizing, and it's true what jon stewart said, in this case "we have to divorce emotion from principle" and i agree with that.
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
Reading your posts, it does not appear you have any genuine sincerity to what you say about freedom of religion ( or being so called ‘concerned’) especially when the issue is not even related to you. Please stop being obsessed with it.
YOU are the one who keep bringing negative image of America or Americans like I said above. America and Americans are very tolerant.
Few people do not make it to importance at all, but YOU are the one who want to ignite the issue. It is very obvious why.
And thanks for ignorant comments about Christians in other thread.
Your unnecessary obsession with this topic clearly shows there. I do not think you had any genuine curiosity asking this question.
You made comment about **most Christians **there for utter lack of knowledge..or shall I say, ‘acting’ naive?
Do some home work before making comments like that. 13 does not give negative image in the minds of Christians. ![]()

Both Christianity and Islam are against superstitions and witchcraft etc. Read Bible chapters.
Re: Ground Zero Mosque, NY
i don't understand why you're bringing religion into this topic.
anyways, you obviously don't seem to understand simple english and get my point so i'm done replying to your comments. it's not as black and white as you make this out to be.
