What do you guys think of the news about mass sexual assault in Germany on NY eve. This is generating a big sentiment about refugees.

They claim to have identified 16 but seem to have passed the verdict in the public opinion court. I believe Merkel will take a lot of heat.

Police investigation has shown that there were indeed some newly arrived refugees involved in these planned and coordinated attacks spread over several German cities. Majority of perpatrators are allegedly from MENA. Europe needs a sober immigration policy so you can integrate people from vastly different cultures into the liberal pluralistic societies of western europe, which means not taking in more than you can actually integrate effectively. This goes for all societies, where you want to create social cohesion.
At the moment Germany and Sweden have had a naive immigration policy which is bound to create problems for their societies. Its also important to remember that many asylum seekers to these countries are not families but rather males, many of whom are young, single, and accustomed to societies with (heavy) modesty doctrines for women.
In sweden, denmark and norway, the vast majority of rapes in public spaces are comitted by men of non-western origin, of whom the majority are asylum seekers.
In Sweden, 30 male asylum seekers tried to rape and kill one female asylum seeker, allegedly because she was staying at the asylum shelter without a male chaperone.
Being in denial will help no one, least of all muslim communities in Europe. Mass influx of males from muslim countries creates certain issues, which need to be dealt with. Maligning all refugees/muslims is not the solution, neither is being in denial about the problem.
Btw, similar incident also occured in Finland, where the perpatrators were Iraqi asylum seekers.

I feel sorry for Merkel, she drew the ire of most western leaders and politicians for being compassionate and a great humanitarian, what a slap on the face by these ingrates she received. That is what we do, humiliate ourselves, our friends and our benefactors.

The brush that they get painted with is getting very broad, for the first time ever I feel that I am being judged. The clamor is to put restrictions on accepting any refugees. The sheer number of attackers and the frequency of occurrence of unsavory behavior points to a broader problem. The innocents have always paid the price of someone else's actions.

One thing that I've learned here recently due to all trump fiasco is that you cannot be quite and take the blame for those who do criminal activities and you are labelled as one of them due to sharing the same religion. You have to speak up if anybody judges you and tell them that a criminal is a bad guy, nothing to do with us, nothing do with other peace loving humanity. Period. Now still if anybody insists in saying all hateful things and judge you then, it means their mentality is so low and limited that no matter wut you do, they are not going to accept it. But that should still not make you change your stand.
I know these are tough times and thats exactly why its time to speak up.

People are very clever here, they wont overtly say it to you but you can certainly sense the discomfort. One of my relative was shouted slurs by an ongoing driver. What is he going to speak up about and the refugees were pepper sprayed in Vancouver. One big problem is that we don't have great visibility in participating in community events. The molvi on TV had promised demonstrations against the extremists by American Muslims and that kind of fizzled.

More appropriate would be to examine the values instilled in young men. This seems to be a cultural issues of misogyny and lack of respect for people of other faiths.

Until now no matter how misogynist a man is he cant be born without a mother, I am sure they have families some where. One Eritrean guy was saying that back where he came from this behavior was normal. The problem is with values.
