So guys … my cousin from canada is flying to lahore and inshallah will be getting married in a months time …
he asked what do boys do to look good at their wedding ? do they go to the salons?
I havent stopped laughing since the last two days … but then last evening i realised that its his big day as well .. and just like us girls men want to look their bestest best as well …
he said , he doesnt want to look his ordinary rugged self whilst sitting besides a girl who is looking like a princess ..
So i am out to help him… does anyone know what the groom’s beauty rituals are for the wedding? and what salons get the groom ready …
Your cousin raises and excellent point, why should the bride get all the attention? :)
Salons offer a large variety of services for grooms to be now too, when my brother got married I literally forced him to go the salon and get ready. He got a facial done, got shaved, had a manicure which essentially was cleaning and filing his nails, + pedicure (cause i knew the girls side were planning on stealing his shoes), had his hair cut and styled and they also helped him set his pugri and trail thing. I made him get his nose and ear hair trimmed too :D he looked lovely.
My husband went to a mens salon in khi. He loved it, he wanted to go there just for a shave on the wedding day but he ended up getting a facial, massage, manicure, getting eyebrows done (just removing some extra hair not actually making a thin shape). He said he felt great afterwards specially because it reduced his stress substantially.
^ Yep, they thread eyebrows / rest of face, trim hair, even offer skin whitening / polish. I saw a groom 2 days b4 his wedding looking dark and handsome, on this wedding day he had materialised into a snowman... Amazing.
and ummm i’ll see if he can remember the name of the salon, he payed about rs5000 i think. all i remeber is him coming back and saying ‘thanks for that sis, i was touched up by babloo for 2 hours’ haha
Wow … thats really in insight … I never thought of the men’s perspective .. I kept undermining them thinking they will always look hairy and rugged no matter what you do with them
Sumo , whats this skin polishing thing? do they look all glossy after doing that?
I was just on the phone with my cousin and told him the bits and he yelled and said no way i am having any waxing done , I love my hair which ever part of the body they are on , they are precious !!
I reckon they pluck and trim the few extra hairs out .. right ?
^I think polish includes bleach so it would make any excess hair on the face goldenish and I've never heard men getting it done but wouldn't be surprised if it is offered to them.
I am glad Sumo you brought this polish thing up ... coz yeah it can make a man look odd with golden hair on his face .. i was told by another friend that they do offer polish ... and it can be tricky ...

Mani (tv wala) got skin polish.... he still cries about it.... whenever someone talks or asks him about his shaadi..... lolzzz his skin got all burned....... bichara. thats the only thing he remember from his shaadi!! he went to Adnan Siddiqui's salon.... i think.
guy's unibrow shouldn't be removed.... thats a stright give away that he has been touched up....
i wouldnt get the skin polish, but go for a simple facial 1-2 days BEFORE the wedding, for any possible redness to go down. I don't think men need any waxing done, but it is good to get groomed up...nails/nose hair/shaved/eyebrows fixed(not shaped)...etc.
Also if need be a touch up hair cut/styling etc. Do not let them do any waxing/bleaching etc....
Depilex Men is a one of its kind men’s salon in the country. Services range from haircuts and styling to manicure, pedicure, massage, facials, perming, dyeing and they also have standard and excecutive groom packages. It is a great place for a hair cut, call them in advance and they’ll have a stylist ready for you, charge 400 for a hair cut which isn’t that bad.
