It can be pretty tricky. Before I lived with my husband I lived with my brother and his wife. My brother would ask me if i needed anything and would pick up a few things for me, but that stopped soon after cz his wife had a problem with it.
It can be an issue because…you may want to cook one thing, while the MIL wants to cook something else. But utlimately it comes down to control/ego issue just like Maham said. BUT i dont think its a bad thing. My mother and my MIL are both very possessive about their kitchens and hwo to do things…im sure most women are.
its one thing to buy a few things for yourself, when you’re living in a family…but buying FOR a family is totally different ball game. it takes alot of plannnig, especially when you’re on a budget. Looking through diferent fliers nad browsing websites to see which places has the best deals, pushing through crowds (if u shop in the evening or during weekends), u have to take into account the likes and dislikes of everyone in the house…if u want something for yourself, but everyone else finishes it :halo: or u may feel bad for etting something that wont benefit everybody else.
Add to that, if u dont have a car…makes the task much harder.
Ok so *your *brother used to get you things but his wife has a problem with getting you some bits here n there? wow! That really is pathetic.
