This post if for those who have recently suffered the loss of a loved one. Most people experience depressed mood and mild symptoms of depression. Normally, grief period lasts about two months. If one continues to have symptoms of depression afterwards…such as insomnia, decreased/increased appetite, weight-gain or weight-loss, decreased interest in life…then treatment is usually considered. After an event such as a divorce or loss of a spouse, grief can sometimes continue to a period of upto three years. Depending on the severity of depression, the pharmacology treatment is considered. However, if the general interest in life continues to be a problem, general recommendation is therapy. Having constant reminders of a loved-one might not be the best idea for one to move ahead in life. For instance, nick of bob-woolmer might not be the best idea as people would have difficulty getting over his death and moving on. The best way to deal with grief is therapy.
Re: Grief
2 months can not be a rule, it could be more , less or can last forever, depending on the person and his/her connection with the lost one ...
Be strong, deleting one account is not the solution for forgetting the reality! ...
Re: Grief
You are correct in some way. Memories of the deceased stay forever. However, there is a time period involved where they turn from being overtly painful and causing disruption in lifestyle, to something that is cherished.
