I am not sure that it is a good choice. He was a brilliant batsmen and one of my favourites. His batting during the 70’s was a treat to watch. However, does that make him a good coach? Has he done any coaching previously, if so, how successful was he? Anyone knows?
Anyways, he has a big task ahead of him and good luck to him.

He has coached the South-Australian ‘Red-Backs’ previously at the Australian National level pretty successfully(he guided them to a Sheffield Sheild win in 1999) and was involved in coaching various levels.He also runs a very popular and succesful coaching program called the Chappell Way, the address of which was provided in an earleir post.He is considered one of the shrewdest thinkers of the game,but what remains to be seen is if he will be able to get the players to implement his ideas in the field coz that requires lot of discipline and team work on part of the players,which unfortunately sub-continental players are not as good at as the aussies. I believe he may be the one who is able to pull sahin out of his current defensive mindset.Let’s see.

Trevor is also in coaching profession as he was used as fielding coach for SL team I believe.
